I saw this on BBC a little while ago. Interesting, but the main point is this: They need to find something useful for it, and do it. Unfortunately a lot of science things like that get discovered, but they're pretty much worthless Jeopardy! facts after that.

yeh agree plus NASA launched its last mission with the shuttle and i read the Russians are taking over that er somethin. so if those particles are somethin worth using they better take advantage now....who the hell knows how the space weather will be in 2012. i dont believe in at whole end of the world crap but i think things in space may get hairy

Are taking over? That were ALWAYS Russian.
Anything that goes to space have Russian technology.

If youre coming from that angle looking at it then yeh "technically" just like everything else amercia buys or uses thats not even from our own country. But anyway when i said that i meant "The lead". As far as "leading the missions". you never see any russians leading a space mission. well at least i never have . only thing i saw major and worth reading on the russians last year were them going out to deep space early to intercept an asteroid thats heading this way some light years away. something that the russians so called spotted first and had their radar up and felt it was an issue. it was on the news and yahoo a bit around the time last year when they were really going deep with how the sun is acting funny and unpredictable with the solar flares. Anyway The US is in debt and they cant "lead" those missions anymore so the Russians are taking over that whole space bit. On xboxlive in the "last shuttle blast off" videos they were saying now per American astronaut will be like over a million dollars to tag along with Russia on space missions....wow
