To make Mel different from ryu and ken why con't you have jean shorts instead and instead of gloves how about bandages like joe, oh and how about some streaks in his hair, and a gold chain, and tennis shoes.(he is freaking rich).
And to make Sean alittle better how about having the basketball being surrounded be energy or made of it.

About Mel, let me get a lil deeper in his BGH:
He uses a Gi bc he is just a Student, and with this gi he trains, (with ankles gloves n undershirt) he doesnt use casual clothesbc he's disciplined. he doesnt use blings bc hes not a gangsta, even being rich (when did ken used jewels in the beginnings??)
also, Mel is a dedicated and honorable Ansatsuken student, wich is something Ryu also teaches him as a "uncle" for him.
Mel doenst have interest in being a star, famous or rich (talk about generational stuff

), hes interested in being the strongest Street Fighter, he is wellthen, "the new young Ryu".
