He looks pretty good but personally kinda hoping that's just a mask he has on during lock up or something like that. Rather see a mask a little more true to how it looked in the comics. Either way I know Hardy will be killer in the role.

Oh for certain. I agree that Bane's mask here could be just ONE of the masks he uses. But either way, I am very excited that news like this showed up. Oh and did you hear the music on www.thedarkknightrises.com ? It's gotta be Bane's theme. It's an amazing point of contrast from the Joker's theme music in the Dark Knight. I mean the Joker's music had that eerie sound that was some of the most menacing music in film, in my opinion. Then we have this song which could be sort of an intense, choir style send-up of something like people cheering for a Gladiator in the arena getting ready to just smash some fools. All around good stuff so far.

trust me a feel ya scar. but its def a hug difference from being hella skinny like he was in Rockinrolla
But ehem honestly though they should have gotten Kane or maybe the dude that fought jet li in fearless
and tony jaa in the protector. Big bald dude. dont quote me to be too accurate but for a huge menace
those two came to mind first. Or maybe the dude that played as Michael myers rob zombies flick...eh dunno

I'd muchhhh rather have Hardy who can act awesomely over some over sized brute that wouldn't be able to give any depth at all to Bane. Or are we forgetting how Batman and Robin went.? Hell, if that were the case, I'd say throw the costume on Brock Lesnar and we'd be set. Srsly, I KNOW Hardy will be great in the role. I'm sure he'll look big in comparison to Bats when the movie comes as well. My only gripe atm is the mask not looking more like the comic version but that's it really.

nah dont get me wrong the dude they have selected should bring an interesting vibe to Banes char. this is why nolans movies are so hot, he snatches up these actors for these roles and it leaves you like wow i didnt see that comin with that actor for that role! But on a more so funny tip with the visuals of bane what im saying i wouldnt mind seeing a better brute than that. But then again these batman movies of nolan are done so clever and cerebral with the script and actors that Even if he chosen Kevin spacey as the riddler i would have been hella interested in seeing how they have em play that role. Because i just know its gonna be hit anyway some how. Im just sayin haha

Uh... Not liking the look at all here.. Hoping he just looks like this for a scene or two as I know any other time we've kinda seen him he hasn't been wearing a shirt but yea. He's looking like he belongs in Star Wars at the moment.

I completely agree. I much rather prefer his original mask look. Like you said, I hope this is just for a small part of the movie. In one of the movie posters he has a stitched back mask on though, so there's still hope.

The mask looks MK like but the gear looks like Star Wars, so some odd hybrid I guess. Honestly though, if the mask was like his comic version, the gear I wouldn't even of minded much. All the mask really needed though was some red type of visors over the eyes and it'd of been completely fine.

I mean, I know he's still going to rock the hell out of that role but the image is killing me at the moment.

I really don't think they'll mess up who Bane is as a character and how cool he is but the image is worrying me some at the moment. I'm actually hoping they use some kinda special FX to make him look bigger (even if just while on Venom).

EDIT: Actually, come to think of it.. Look at how covered up Bane is, thinking it might actually be that way to make his size grow much easier when it comes to FX. Hmm.

I don't mind that they didn't get a Hispanic for the role, they got an amazing actor, that's a lot more important IMO. I mean, I know his origin won't be the same either in the film and I suppose that's fine for the most part. Just that size comparison.. Ugh..

Yeah I'm sure it is abundantly obvious to the creators of the film how small Bane looks in comparison. I'd be willing to bet that he'll get bigger and/or more ripped and frightening later on in the film.

Otherwise I like seeing Batman fighting in the snow again. For some reason ever since Batman Returns there is something about the winter setting that I feel fits Batman well.
