MUGEN Must-Haves
« on: April 12, 2011, 04:07:01 PM »
Basically, this thread is about characters and stages that are so nifty, they deserve a download, if not only for you to see if they live to the hype.

Plus, this will also serve as a way for me to rebuild my roster, since I just recently wiped it.  Here are my suggestions:

Astro by Mouser and R@ce45:  What R@ce did to such a simple character is nothing short of outstanding.  However, he comes with his share of flaws, but mostly nothing major.

Leonardo by ByteZero and R@ce45:  As you might've noticed, I have a fondness for R@ce's edits.  Like with Astro, he done a whole lot to a simple character, and as with before, he has a few minor flaws.

Infinite Iori by Anjel and Mr. Infinite:  Arguably Infinite's most solid creation, it doesn't hurt that it's based on Anjel's Iori, arguably the best CvS styled Iori out there.

Infinite Terry by Vyn and Mr. Infinite:  Like with Iori, he's a solid creation that's based on a great CvS styled character.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by David2Draw:  These guys are by far the most fun you can have with MUGEN.  They also have 16-bit era styled effects, which really compliments their visuals.

Vyn's custom MvC characters:  A combination of neat effects, neat gameplay, and solid AI, these will make your survival strolls fun, to say the least.

Astro, Leonardo, Iori, Terry:  http://sicgraphicsmugen.darkbb.com/

Turtles:  http://dcat.mugen-infantry.net/home

Vyn's MvC:  http://www.freewebs.com/xvynx/

I'd like to see this thread take off.   :w00t:

One is definately the new Hal Jordan by Buyog.

Crazy how EACH Enter+(button) palette is so different from the rest. Orange is crazy to fight with or against because of all his power. Definitely one of the best MUGEN chars.

I got the Dhalsim too, he asked me to test him.  He's outstanding, too!

Glad to see this thread finally taking off!

Well, it's not a character or stage, but if you haven't downloaded Visual Select Screen Editor by Tunglashor, you should.

Thank you.

I also reccomend Kurai Naito's characters, specifically his SvC characters.  Most people would complain about the effects clashing, but I like bright CvS-styled effects against dark SNK sprites.  Brings out a neat clash.

http://darktemple.paodemugen.com.br/

The_None's characters are well made with oddities, to say the least.  The ones I absolutely recommend are Dee Bee Kaaw, Segalow, and Shadow Kouma.  His Heita was fine, and still is, but now it's kinda moot to have him when you have Captain Falcon.  His edit of Jango's Ren is also a must have.

http://www.justnopoint.com/lbends/index.php?location=home

Speaking of Captain Falcon, Kamekaze's Falcon is also a neat-o character.

http://kamekaze.clubsyn-x-treme.net/

All of Pneophen's characters are a blast from the past, and I specifically recommend his MK characters, Juni, and Ranma.

I might as well throw this in here, too.

Megaman by DG.  I wasn't too crazy about his MvC styled SF3 Ryu, but his Megaman is something a lot of people can appreciate.

He never disappoints.  Even though he isn't, I liked his Axel and Sketch.  The 16-bit era was the best!

Alex was the only other one I had.  I think he made that guy from SoR2 with the Spandex Jeans and one of the grunts, called Galcia.  However, I haven't seen the other two released.

Alex was a fine character, albeit a bit flashy, but hey, it looked nice.

Anymore awesome chars I've missed?

Err, yeah, Axel.  My bad.

Speaking of Axel, Buckus made his own version of him.  Not to mention a whole slew of other characters, who are equally impressive!  Give his stuff a shot!

In my opinion, a must-have stage would have to be Crystal Labyrinth. You can find it here:

http://sd.mistrust.com/sw/

It truly deserved being the number one stage in that competition. Also, the Another World stage is a good runner-up, and the third-place, Comix Zone, by PotS nonetheless, is also good. It's only a shame number 4 isn't really that good...

Because, It's Midnite

You're only saying that cause #4 is your own stage.   :P

And damn, I miss that site.  Thanks for popping it back up!
