I disagree, I think the words and empty and shallow. Click here for lyrics. I think the melody is week and uses excessive repetition in hopes of getting it stuck in your head. It also is a cheap effort to associate the song with party time, in hopes that the beat will sell it as a dance tune. I think the singing quality of the young girl who sings the original is nothing exeptional, nothing that most young girls can't do, and seeing a bunch of 12 year old kids (ok maybe a little older) joy ridding like they're big stuff is only something worthy of mockery by their peers. And the auto-tune is yet again horrible, only funny when Jimmy Fallons sings with it in a parody fashion. This reminds me of the episode of Glee (most recent) where they wrote their own music and the songs Rachel wrote were laughably bad (on purpose). This song is really bad, I can stand up for most music but this is manufactured music at it's worst.

I think that's a common goal most musicians tend to go with.  Compare Metallica's Enter Sandman with anything before their Black Album, and you'll see.

Most songs are written to be used as a getaway from reality, ranging from the average rock band's escapades with prostitutes, drug addiction, and making money to this song here.

Never understood Auto-Tune's premise.  It was only done right once, in Computer Love by Zapp and Roger, and even then, it was simply a vocoder.
