He doesn't seams to be confused. He seams to enjoy it.
Since you have kids, you may know that a baby, when its hungry, doesn't stop crying even if the hell frozen. Just with food

My father used the same skill on me (back at 1979, when I was just 1 year old) with Iron Maiden.
Then again with my younger brother, with Judas Priest.
