This to me just seems like a sign of the overal trend in Marvel Movies.

Spiderman 1st series was good, the X-Men 1st series was good. Blade was perfect, the 2nd Hulk, and Iron Man all good, even Ghost Rider.

Lately GI Joe Cap, Power Rangers Spidey, Rubber Chainmail Thor, X-Men no class. These movies look like theyre back to making movies moving away from the comics, and back to 80's, and 90's let make them for the general public.

Marvel was on a streak of making high class comic movies very respectful to the comics, and now they just seem to be goofy looking.

Never had a problem with the 1st X-films, and I dont like Ghost Rider, but visually it was well done, and deserves some respect for showing the character as he is.

Same here. I thought Ghost Rider was a good popcorn film. Same for the first F4 movie (2nd one though was reAAAlly bad)

Still could be worse. It definitely looks better than this.

^^(PM)^  i agree. i myself love on the first 2 spidermans and only liked the 3rd cause of sandman. coulda been better., blade series - perfect. i only like xmen 1 and 2. 2nd hulk_ can watch that over and over and never get tired of seeing it.  my only dissappointment with ghost rider was the ending. they realllllly could have went all out on this flick seriously. yeah the speical effects was dead on point , loved when he rode the hell chopper up the building and came back down and BOOOOOM! if they ever did another one, best not keep doing redos. just continue and make better.

ya know who i blame for these wack a$$ movies, directors. they are givin a budget for the movie. but yet these dudes dont use that to they advantage like Sam Raimi.  i mean i swear the way they are pumpin out crap like these new flicks makes me wonder, shouldnt a comic movie be ONLY directed by a real comic fan director?  I mean i know everyone has they own "vision"  of what the character or characters of the comics are about and oh they should do thuis and ohhh they should shoot that out they armpits and such . keep it grounded to the core of the comics but add that good good flair and utilize great interpretation to bring our beloved comic characters some real great justice.    Please Sony...cancel this movie...quick! and cmon and really give us the spidey 4 we want . ::salute::

Ghost Rider IS getting a sequel made actually. Cage is still involved, Eva Mendes isn't coming back, and not sure if the same writer/director is returning or not

yep. But Cage made it clear it has nothing to do with the first movie and it will be different and better as he said. I Posted that a while ago on that late last year Btw.

I dont like Ghost Rider, but visually it was well done, and deserves some respect for showing the character as he is.

I think i can agree with u on that also. I actually still didnt see Ghost rider or wolverine yet. BUt the FX of GR looks cool though. BUt how it was directed and scripted i heard from most of my friends is it wasnt all that. Xmen 1 & 2 i didnt like that much. 2 was entertaining but to me as a Fan of the comics it sucked. Maybe it was the fact they killed Cyclops at the end. The first one was only digestable cuz it was the First Xmen movie. But from the "Dominatrix" Costumes and how certain things went down IMO it just wasnt cool to me. But eh it gets an "E" for effort. I think Zack snyder and Christopher Nolan teamed up would have done a way better & bad @ss Xmen movie. hell, even X force (based on the latest "Bloody" series). lol to me Watchmen set the bar in my eyes on a deep script and down to the core costumes and FX for super hero chars from a comic to movie thats damn there exact. I dont know how many times i watched that movie.

yeah pretty much the only thing missing from GR was more action. thas about it. visually...it was right on target. , the storyline, cool but its that dang ending i just felt like  for a climax building up they coulda went wayyyy out there man.

an X force movie would ...gimmie a braingasim if done right :o :o :o. lol , but the way these comic movies are going...its getting suspect on one hand and a big rush of enjoyment on others. So i am left in the middle of it wih a big  /:O  :-?? .

i say this , you can have a crapload of fx, crazy action  and all the trimmings but if the story is so outta wack, off target and doesnt appeal to the fans , its a  *Iceman ThumbsDown!*
if you have the on point script, great fx but lack the action on good flow and it drags into a drama more than an all out action joint than from fans it will be a  *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

thats why i think its best to have all those things lined up correctly and have a GOOD director who knows the comics and stays on point and makes the good camera work, steers the plot to the action and drama flow in unison  and UNDERSTANDS what the character is really about and makes it pop to the core then it should be a great movie. but dont let it get too far into a fantard hands cause sometimes they will put anyhing they think everyone will want into a jumbled mess and it flops cause they will implement things THEY think will make sense. nothing in comics is true but has a core somewhere. its fantasy for goodness sakes....i want a real black cat to LOOK  and ACT like Blackcat! I think I will reserve judgment until I actually see some footage of spidey in action. I will admit the suit does look different, but I won't be scared of change.

You are saying all the comic films you named that are good didn't move away from the comics?  Lets be honest here, all those films you named had to take some liberties with each of those franchises and had to move away alittle, but they kept in spirit of the original source which IMO made them good.
What is wrong with Captain American playing GI Joe, isn't that what he did when he first came out? He is Captain America, known for fighting the Nazis in WW2. I honestly don't see what the problem is. Isn't that not sticking with the source material? I think the Thor costume looks pretty great, but as for the movie itself......yea I am on the fence if it will be good. X-Men First Class.....yea I am even more mixed on that. There were parts that make me think "ok not too bad" and then parts like "wow, they are trying to appeal to a bigger male crowd to make it look sexy, that is bad". With that said, I will go into these movies like I go to movies in general, with a open mind. I know especially with comic book movies they won't stick to the original source and will take alot of liberties, but if it is entertaining and a fun movie, I don't mind the changes cause in the end, it is just the movie version and not the original.

The new Spiderman outfit looks really silly, but it looks like the more traditional comic book version of the suit with its bright colors where as the first Spiderman trilogy it went for a more "real world" look. Bright costumes just don't work usually and it shows with this movie costume so far. We just don't know how it looks in a trailer or movie, we just see stills and go "damn that sucks". The Captain America costume looks goofy looking to me until I saw the trailer and it looked better in motion.

It's about the level of interpretation. I dont recall any of my post saying that these films I liked didnt change anything. Theres a difference between taking liberties with a story, and completely re-writing it with totally differant characters, and completely differant story.

I dont see anything traditional about this spiderman outfit. If anything the origional Spiderman movies were traditional.

No Cap didnt wear an army helmet, fatigues, and a gun strapped on his side. He did use a gun at times, but it was the same ole Cap thats still around today.

By all means go see them with an open mind. As long as they make money they could care less what garbage they produce. I'll stick with the comics. Better writers, and better overal story telling that respects the characters the fans have come to know.

My point was simply that these movies do not seem to be on the same level with the quality that Marvel started out producing. I stand by that

 ^^(PM)^ agreed

i think marvel should have or should  just stick with the formula that they was makin all the huge money with, iron man, incrediable hulk, spiderman and invest those samed comic ideas from the comics into the movies they wanna do now. that spiderman comin out is by Sony ( bad move right there) which probably why he looks so off track ( while in a track suit for goodness sakes) and because of that , yeah he is loosing some ground . all over the net. yeah imma wait to see the trailer but i know with trailers first hand , they gonna show just the good parts, if there is any.

as for cap...i am just in the middle on him. so i will see whats up when it hits.

Now that new x men movie...mannnn i am just kinda nada on it. ok some of the fx looks really good but its the arrangement of the characters and the ime period and how they have such a mix match going on.wasnt emma frost just a kid in wolverine movie and the professor was bald at the end but here she is older with a fully haired professor x and she is an adult  /:O
its weird mix matches like this that hardcore fans will kinda make that WHAT face at.  its strange tho cause my 2 brothers both got different emotions on it. my brother under me thats in his 30's been reading the comcis since the early 80's knows the x men history and is like  *Iceman ThumbsDown!* for wha they doing but my younger brother thats in his ealy 20's thinks it looks hot but he knows nothing of the xmen history and doesnt read the comics at all. So in that i think i see where the real appeal is geared towards. :|

It's meant to make it look good and it is. If the movie is like that, what's the problem.? Kinda like saying touching up pics in photoshop is to make it look better.. But that's the whole point of doing that.

Doesnt look any where near as cool as the previous 3 teasers to me. Looks like an add for a bad Ben Reilly Spiderman film with his stupid costume.
