yeah i saw this awhile back as well. actually if this is the very same game that was called Sonic fan remix..somehing like that. its just 2 guys. i read about them matter of fact. they are in an interview in ...get this..Game Informer. got a whole nice size article too. got the book and was amazed at how they got of good notice and its well deserved.  definetly yall have to read it. Nahhh and sega aint never contacted them. its a fan game, wether better than theirs or not. long as you dont sell it basically its a fan game and must be known as a fan game. if sega would come afer them, then capcom, marvel, snk,  and all the like woulda shut mugen down long ago.  but these are considered fan games and not takin seriously like that by the companies that made the characters and games we use from to create our own versions. so it should be all good. def i got to play it, heard its probably better than sonic 4 game. so i wanna try this bad boy out.

As far as I know, only Squeenix gets butthurt when people try to make fan games, based on their series (the Chrono one, anyway).

Capcom, on the other hand, is actually supportive of fan projects, as they're essentially free advertising (except for Rockmen:R, whose creators had the "brilliant" idea of selling a fan game in physical form ).

All in all, companies tend to be fine with fan games, as long as people don't try to sell them.

But yeah, Sonic 2 HD looks gorgeous so far.

are you serious man.. someone actually tried to sell a fan game?  yoooo now that is hilarious. i know he is hurtin from that . SMH , some people just dont learn man.
its a difference if you put out a project that will really really turn a companies heads and they think you can do some really good things with them then yeah who knows, they might actually contact these guys that makin this sonic game and make them a cool lil offer. happens all the time . trust me .
