Leo: Final Mix released on 11/30/2010 (Updated on 12/02/2010)
« on: November 30, 2010, 10:07:30 PM »

Hey everyone. Leo, the next character under the Final Mix label is here just in time for Fall!

Leo's been in the works for awhile (longer than many people would guess), but got full attention this year so he could be completed at a timely fashion. His gameplay is designed with Red Earth/Warzard as a base, but instead of retaining his somewhat simplistic style, a lot of revision and additions have been implemented, making him a technical character with many options.

WHAT'S DONE?
-All sprites
-All sounds
-All original moves + new moves
-AI implemented
-3 palettes (need more)
-Configuration text file included

Along with this, Leo features some fixes, revisions, and new systems that have also been implemented into my other Final Mix characters, such as a Dizzy system, alternate super BG, and so on. Kenji, Tessa, and Mai-Ling will get an update release with the new changes and additions at another date, so for the time being you can try them out through Leo.

Please refer to the readme and movelist to understand more about Leo and his gameplay. Remember that you can customized things to your liking through the config.txt. Post all bug reports and feedback here, so I can address any issues that may arise.

Download link is on my page at InfinityWiki: Sabaki's InfinityWiki Page

PATCH FILE 12/02/2010: http://www.mediafire.com/?nflh4rfzi4wvz57
(Only for those who downloaded on 12/01/2010)

Enjoy :)

Thanks for the support, guys  :) . Feels good to finally release this. Here's looking forward to more in the future  ;)

Btw Leo has just been updated. Some minor fixes for a few bugs, some not so noticeable but better to get rid of them now. You can download the patch in the 1st post or at my Wiki page. Main file link has also been updated with the fixes as well.

@G Lux:  ;)

@DEMONKAI: Glad you approve  ::salute:: . The alternate bg is still experimental, but I'm keeping the original bg in for those that like the ol' Red Earth feel.

I regret to say, but I forget to mention in the readme that you need at least 500 pts in your super gauge to  use Mystic Pulse. Guess I was in a rush and forget. Anyways, gonna update the main file (again), but since this is document-related just grab the patch instead. I will do this in the afternoon so please wait for he next announcement on this. Oh, and if anyone finds any bugs or has any questions don't hesitate to post them here please  ;D

Main file's been updated again, while a patch is available for those who downloaded Leo on 12/01/2010. This update is very small, so you can skip it if you want, but I'd advise that you at least get the patch. The only changes done are the following:

-Updated movelist with info about Mystic Pulse's activation method
-Deleted some unused coding (doesn't affect gameplay, but could cause a cosmetic issue for the other character if the conditions meet)
-Tweaked a command in the CMD, which is related to the config.txt
-Updated the readme with the update

Unless any major bugs are discovered and reported, no more patches minor updates for the weeks to follow until the next real update which will have the fixes and additions planned. Again, sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks to all for the support :)

He is pretty good. The only problem I find is that he kicks and tries to hit the air alot. The other character could be on the other side of the screen and he will swing at it.Other then that he is great and I like that you try to stick to the source custom crap just gets on my nerves sometimes so I will probably replace Doggie Doo's Leo with yours.

@James Ivins: thanks for the feedback. The reason why Leo swings from far away is due to his long reach. He's supposed to only attack when a character is within range, but if that character is very mobile & elusive the many of his swing do only hit air. I'll see if I can adjust the AI's attack range if people find that it misses too often.

I tried to retain the feel of the original game, while allowing player to config things if they want the original controls  & setup while removing the custom stuff (my characters have a lot of custom stuff....). Doggiedoo's Leo, on the other hand, is very close to the source since he wanted to make an accurate version (and did a very good job, too). Still, I'm glad you like what I have to offer, especially since I'm trying to bring new ideas for mugen  :)   .

@UltimateBiosparkJ: thanks for the kind words. I wasn't aware you made palettes.  Gonna check them out right now

Thank you for releasing this character!
This version is faithful to original version, and I love this upgraded version!  :cool
If I find error or bugs, I will report.

Thanks to Demonkai.  I got this MMPR photo.
I didn't know your name was :D. That's an interesting name.

The other thing I noticed is when I throw him (using Strider Hiryu by Splode) he lands then a split second later he makes his landing noise and kicks his legs up a little. Its hard to make a screenshot you should just try throwing him in training mode with Splodes Strider to see what I mean.Other then that I DO think your character is the closest to source. :)

@James Ivins: Thanks for the feedback. I believe that issue is with Strider himself and the throw, for it's putting a character into a custom liedown state before being sent to state 5110. Once in 5110, mugen detects the character has hit the ground, which in turn causes the delay in the slam, envshake, etc. I'm having a similar issue when coding throws myself. BTW I took your advice and tweaked the AI abit, so Leo shouldn't swing from far away (as much), but attempt (better) attacks at a closer range.

Thx again for the compliment. If any other bugs or issues arise please let me know.

@CrossDash: thanks for the kind words   :)
