Sonya is definitely my Favorite MK female... but I think they made her look waaaaay to much like Nina.   I mean, the hair is nearly exact.    Also, that outfit (while not bad) does not say "Special Forces" at all.   They should have just stuck with her MKvsDC look with slight upgrades.

No, It's a Russian Gaming Magazine Cover.  That's one of two covers for the issue.   The other is the MK Dragon Logo.

Also, if you've seen the latest screen shot of an updated Character select screen (that came out around the same time as the pics of Ermac and Goro... The head shot of Sonya matches what she's wearing in the above pic.

ok... one more time... This is a Gaming magazine cover.  Meaning MK is not the only game these people would be covering.   Hence the pics of other videogame characters on the cover in an obviously fighting game type theme.   It's not a stand alone pic of MK.  It's a legit Gaming Mag cover.  There are two covers for the issue.  The other is just the new MK dragon logo.

Check this.  It's an updated select screen that was posted a little while back (along with a pic of Ermac and a pic of Goro.)   If you look at the Sonya head shot... it's clear she's wearing the same outfit as shown above.   It's definitely not fake.. that is Sonya's Render.  I bet the full size render is released very soon.

Actually I've been on the look-out for those.  Unfortunately I've found nothing yet.  Only a matter of time now though.  I think they'll release her full size render first and then maybe a video or two.  A good thing to keep an eye on are the Mkasts.  You can usually catch glimpses of some cool stuff in the videos they show while talking about the game.

While I won't say that it's impossible ('cause I know better than to call anything impossible).. I will say it's highly unlikely.    It's no big deal though..we'll find out soon enough I'm sure.   I just hope that when the full render is released, that some vids are released with it.  I'm interested to see how they handled her moves this time around (especially with that super meter).

I love Mortal Kombat, and I'll be playing this game regardless, but what is it with them oversexing every character?    I mean seriously, its a video game, why does the MK team wanna make a special forces chick look sexy? She doesn't look like she's getting ready to go to war, she looks like she's ready to hit the stripper pole. Ugh...

I'm male, and I usually don't play as female characters. They never seem as cool, or as powerful to me. They usually seem like they're there just for the sake of having female characters. Now, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has been switching that up a little bit, since X-23 looks really mean, but MK is still just going for the stripper look...

I already figured MvC3 would wind up being an all-around better game than MK...but this is just less to like about the new MK in general. Damn.

I do agree that the look doesn't shout "Special Forces".   However, one thing I'm happy about (and it's a shame this has to be said) is that this is the most feminine she's looked since the Kerri Hoskins days.   The games that came after MK4... she had a pretty steady case of "Man Face".   I was always pissed off at that because she's my favorite female character of the MK games.   They seemed to have a huge problem with her anatomy also (in the previous games)... but with this new look they nailed it.  Her face and body look fantastic.   Now if they would just put her in something that fits who she is.. we'd be golden.   This costume isn't bad.. but I truly hope her alternate is more befitting her character.

It is definitely hot (even if it doesn't suit her.)   I think the reason I don't mind it that much.. is the fact that, while looking extremely hot, she also looks like she could seriously hurt you if you crossed her.   She looks both tough and sexy.   The MK team finally discovered the difference between strong female fighter and butch she-male.  So good for them for catching that bus.  Even if it is a bit later in the game .

Hmm.. is it me... or is Sonya looking more like a Bounty Hunter than a Special Forces Agent in this game?   The hair is looking nice in-game.. doesn't look like the horrible plastic wig that it was in MKDA-MKA.   

All in all.. I'm just happy to know that she's there.

 Looks like she still has the fly kick she ripped from Liu Kang though.. not sure I how I feel about that move.  First of all, it's Liu's.. there's no reason Sonya should have it.   Another reason for my hatred is that this is the move that replaced her signature leg grab move in MKDA.   I'm hoping that it's just a jump kicks.. but the fact that it looks like Kitana's in the middle of a spin in the air after getting hit by it makes me think that's not the case.


She'd better have her Leg Grab.  It's her best and most popular move.
