MvC Jean Grey Beta 3

Hi! Finally here the Beta 3 version.

Most of these changes add Femrril good friend, who also revised and corrected all the bugs he found.
I'll post the video later. Patience, please.

News:
-Gambit as helper
-three telekinetic attacks
-three telekinetic shields
-flight mode
-the strong fist projectile is random
-as telepathic attack, a new Hyper: "memories of the past", with the collaboration of Zvitor (Emma Frost)
-Fixed bug in helpers
-Phoenix tackle. with new effect and can now be done in air

It should be noted that during the flight, can make the following attacks: Mind Blast, Telekinetic Shield and Phoenix Tackle in addition to their basic strokes.

still much to improve (especially in sprites), add and complete, but thanks to your support, fans of Mugen, it'll reach an Alpha version.

Good, I'm downloading right now and I will post my feedback later.

She seams to be nice on the video, but I can see that transparent HR effects could help her

- Large portrait too small by 1px on all sides.
- Objects spawned by stand Z come in oddly and have priorities. The punch itself also does damage, adding to the madness.
- No sound on D+Y.
- F+mash X for an infinite.
- Standard mugen sounds on stand B.
- QCF+2P does 300, 100 too much.
- QCF+2K does up to 320, 120 too much.
- Faceless during QCF+2K, BG music exists too.
- Pushing opponents looks really messed up.
- QCB+Z, mash X: 440-480 damage.
- Up to 500 using A instead, but uses grab sounds.
- QCF+P misses up close.
- What voice is that on QCF+K? Up close use of it goes from 120 (weak) to 210 (strong)
- All versions of QCB+K do 60, have priorities, are too fast, and are jerky.
- I really don't get the pics during QCB+2P, it does 420, 100 too much for a level 2, and purple 2K2UM glass shatter doesn't fit.
- QCF+2P hits the other side of the screen.
- No hitsparks on QCB+K.
- Because of QCB+Z, 3 bars can do 980-1000, and if it KOs, lots of debug.
- Winpose to casual clothes is not smooth.
- A and B are too fast.
- No hitsparks on QCB+P.
- QCB+2P does no chip damage.
- Throw heart intro is not smooth.
- Fly in intro is not smooth.
- Voices overall are not consistent.
- Debug on KOing opponent with anything but a super.
- MvC1 Hyper Combo Finish voice on CotA background.
- Cyclops intro and winpose are not smooth.
- Many voices are too low.
- her hair changes somehow in Cyclops winpose and one intro.
- Cyclops' shading is messed up.
- Jean lacks shading in places.
- Guitar solo on QCB+2P doesn't fit.

Feedback;

-Some of what Orochi Gill said. Slow down the B and A attacks, I can link B into itself easily.
-Down Y shouldnt have 2 sound effects playing at the same time. It should only be one.
-Air Comboing is weird. She can chain, but the Jumping C should knockdown on air opponents.
-QCB + 2P... at first I thought the pictures were attacking the opponent..
-Infinite with Jumping A. Repeat in the corner and just jump and press A repeatedly.
-Tone down the damage on her QCB + Z moves. You can do about 500 damage just by mashing X, or repeatedly slamming the opponent into the ground.
-She has trouble throwing in the corner. 50% of the time, she'll fail to throw the opponent because shes being pushed back when walking into the opponent.
-Hitbox for QCF + 2K should be the Phoenix instead. My opinion, though.
-I had an issue with the QCB + Z move, if you use against some character with a recovery roll (I used it against Warusaki's CvS Haohmaru), sometimes they'll be able to recover if your pushing them into a wall while they're on the ground.

I don't think Jean needs strikers, she can kick butt on her own.  Anything else I might of said as a bug report everyone else hit and lots more..  She's fun to play if I don't use strikers, I like the improvements.  Keep working on it, it will be cool in the end.   ;D

Hi, im Femrril, one of the responsibles of this update of Jean. You have to blame me for some of the new stuff that she can do in this update.

First, I didn t join this project to "impress" anyone, i saw a lot of X-men chars and i feel that it s about time to make a good Jean Grey version for mugen.

Now,  im new in mugen world and this is my first work released, i know there is still a lot to work in this char. I made some improves from the last versions of her and try to make the new stuff more faithful of her comic incarnation.

I thx you all for the feedback, that gonna help me to improve this char, but there some stuff i don t gonna change. People say that she is too powerful and that is cuz in the comic she is one of the most powerful mutants (without the phoenix force), she is an omega level mutant only 11 mutants in all marvel universe are in this category. That s why i think she must be more powerful than the average char.

But you are right about the damage during QCB+Z attack, using buttons a or x, so im gonna tone down the damage for the next update.

About the launcher and the air combo, we didn t consider that in this release, but we gonna work in that in the next one.

The phoenix hyper stays like it is right now, she is calling the cosmic power of the phonix force, she is not the human torch so the damage that she inflicts it s not related with the fire of the phoenix icon. This phoenix force attack is the hyper with more range that she has cuz it s using cosmic power.

About the recover roll of some chars during QCB+Z attack, that have more to do with the AI code of that char, than with the code of this attack. The AI shouldn t consider if the char has ctrl = 0 or ctrl = 1, just take in consideration the position of the char in a gethit state. Sorry we can t fix mistakes in others chars.

In the new Hyper, you really need to read some of the background story of the char and some of his actual powers. She is using her telephatic power to replace random parts of the opponent memory with her memories (not for brainwash) she is breaking the connections between the memories to create a hole in the self-aware of the opponent that s the first part till the opponent start to glow blue. Then she is using those memories to purge the real conscience of the opponent. The mental stress is what cause the damage to the opponent. It s like she tears apart the psychic image in your mind piece by piece while she is invading your mind.

Now, we re conscious that it takes high damage, that why we didn t put any damage when the opponent guarded that attack, so it has some equilibrium.

The objects that she throws with the high punch go to the Y position of the opponent in that moment, cuz she isn t throwing them from her fists, it s why she can hit the opponent with them before the object is launched. Otherwise if she does it next to the opponent, the oppoenent doesn t take any damage after that hit and that it s just wrong.

About the strikers, they were here before i join this project. And you don t have to use them if you don t want to, but there are helpful when you fight agaisnt powerful enemies or huge ones.

Thx for your time and help to make this char better, we gonna check the problems that you mentioned before, but some of your opinions on how an attack should work may be ignored.

i like the new stuff, it has a way better flow for jean grey than i have ever seen, well done team, there has been a fair bit of knit picking i've read recently, and i myself have added my ideas to that large consensus, but in checking out this incarnation, i see that it this taken alot of that on board, i really enjoyed the update and hope it gets better, do you guys still have more moves to make or updates? if so palletes need more variety (like x-factor, aoa, evolution ...so on and so on, and i've got a portrait for you guys, just let me know where to send (if you want it)
keep up the good work,
p.s. still think the psy-blade is not needed, (but does look great)
and i love the random objects, and picking up of opponent totally jean :cool

Thx for your comments, we have still a lot of ideas for Jean for the next updates, about the new palletes i think maybe we gonna need to find someone to help us in the sprite department, with the palletes and the new stuff. Im doing the code, fixing problems and adding new moves.

About the portrait you can post it in this topic or send me a PM with the link of the sprite, thx again for your concern in our project.

We really want to make the best Jean Grey possible for Mugen. !!!   8)

Well, well, in terms of "Psy blade" that Jean never use alone would have to modify the Psy Knives (pink) for a luminous dust-looking, almost stellar (pink, of course). Only that I have to create and adapt pericarpel sprites of nothing other than the "frankensteizacion." Nor is work shared palettes ...
Even so move slowly but surely .

And still the donkey to the wheat with the helpers %-( ... I'll say just one more time \-/o.
The suits in allusion to Jean of Xmen 90's series, because that Jean if you often seek help from their peers by telepathy. that it is not stupid or weak, but that Jean is more attached to their friends than other series. Still, look for ways to make them optional. And that still lack Magneto, Beast, Archangel ...

in terms of sounds and voices, if not able to achieve good, then I myself bend to the voice of Jean! (Yeah, I can do).

alright it's all done, added 6 pallets fixed most of the sprites, and tweaked the commands to flow better as a fighter, and yet still i'm sure i can and probably do better (but am tired, and would rather hand your lovely character back now) where do you like me to send it?

Well, I just want to say that all criticisms and suggestions are taken into account, but do not expect to see a new version of Phoenix, because I do not want to add fire attack, or turn it into a char "evil." And we study the possibility of a new hyper with all the helpers together, but perhaps out of three in a random each time it runs.

It's nice to see one character no "invencible" after all nice work, the previous versions were kind to hard to kill man i know they want to make something good dude but sometimes less is more.

By the way terrific job on this one dude, if can u remove the helpers that it be cool, the best jean so far and thx for share man.
