DCL Releases: MvC-EoH Chun-Li

That's right, Chun-Li was my next, in fact she HAD TO BE FINISHED!!! I had her as a WIP for a while and now she's done, she has everything I wanted to give her, and please read the readme file that comes with Chun-Li to know everything. Hopefully, Chun-Li forgives me for keeping her on hold...now I can move on to other WIPs that I need to finish. I know which one too, and you guys probably know which one or ones I mean...

anyway, feedback on Chun Li.


-Kinda weird, but why are Chun Li's kicks stronger than her punches?
-Her HK Tenshou Kyaku can have trouble connecting fully when done in an air combo, unless done near a corner.
-Nice idea on her ground Level 3.
-Taunt doesnt hit opponents (Hitbox there though)
-Why is her Spinning Bird Kick a QCF motion? Also, there seems to be 2 versions of this move; One where it's just horizontal, and then the other where it moves like Sakura's Shunpukyaku.
-No Super bg on her supers.
-Where have I seen that Level 3 BG? hmmm..  :^o

Shes fun and different. Heres what I found so far:

-I agree with aznperson regarding Aerial Tenshou Kyaku. It has issues connecting with shorter Characters.
-Aerial Spinning Bird Kick would look better if it just moved straight. But its your choice really.
-I know you wanted Aerial HP to work like TvC but it doesn't look good. Again, its your preference and I don't mean to offend at all.
-I like the big select portrait, but it looks blocky, is it from a video? If you'd like I can pm you the same portrait, just better quality.
-Can't combo C.MP from S.LK and S.LP(Intentional?)
-Can't combo C.MK from S.MP (Intentional?)
-Level 3 Portrait looks squished.

Nice release and will report any other bugs as I find them.

Letting everyone know that I updated Chun-Li and fixed a few bugs that I forgot to fix before releasing her.

I must say, this is one of the best MvC(+ EoH) Chun Li's out there. All the other ones are either porrly made and really cheap. Thanks for the Release, DCL. So whats your next line of work?

You need to find a way to further limit the wall jumps. I can air dash from the right side of the screen twice *grab the wall* forward airdash, and then backdash *grab the wall. I can only repeat this 3 times.
I noticed the fx for the hyaretsukyaku (or however it's spelled) is kinda dirty. I found this to be odd because the other effects are great. Also, I can't combo into it.

Your stuff is really good.

The wall jumps are limited, but the variable used for the limit resets when you jump again in the air. I'm not good at making good effects, they always looks either ugly or just messy, i need help on the effects. =/

I also noticed that. say you're fighting a tough character and you're cornered, if you try to jump and dash away, she'll wall jump cause you're so close to the wall. I find that changing the command to "UF" helps a lot.

If you need help with effects, I can help. I've been messing around with PSP and I've come up with some stuff:

Now THAT'S the type of effects I like to see on my characters, unfortunately Im terrible with photoshop or any other program that can do these kinds of effects. I'll completely redo all of my Chun-Li's effects if they were like the one you showed me.

POTS have a tutorial to make your effects look like that. I used it on CvS2 Remy once.

^^I learned how to make these with that very same tutorial. You also forgot to extend the borders for the sprite. The right edge of it is cut off.

I can try to complete her Hyakuretsu sprites this weekend and show them to you in-game? Unless of course you'd like the link to the tutorial? Also, big portrait:

Hey DCL, if you need someone to do those effects for ya i could ask Infinite, he is a pro at making them. He does all of mine for me.

In fact, that very same day i asked you about how to do it, i mentioned somethin to Infinite about Pot's tutorial and he went and found it on guild and learned how to do it, now we all get the effects we need.

So i'll ask him for you when he gets online ok

you should ask warcuied to send you his effects. :)
gambit had some nice effects (even though they were just blurred).

Alright thanks, I really appreciate it, I suck BIG TIME with Photoshop or any other program like that. I like those types of effects. However I do want them to be added with the characters palette. like PotS has on his characters.

- QCF+2P could be lowered by 47.
- HCB+2P (typoed as GCB+2P) is slightly weak for a level 1 (about 18 under 200 at point blank).
- QCF+2K does 47 too much and totally misses ground opponents.
- Stand Y, A, and B miss at point blank.
- Stand X misses sometimes at point blank when holding forward.
- Comboing doesn't feel natural (I can't really explain it though).

For Chun-Li
 -In TvC, Chun-Li's motion is faster (I think, can't remember) and she throws the Fireball rather quickly, however, it disappears very quickly.
 -In the old MvC games (X-Men vs SF, MSH vs SF, MvC1, MvC2), Chun-Li didnt have a Spinning Bird Kick I believe, so I wasnt sure about the motion for her Spin Bird Kick. With the exception of SF3 and SFA3.
 - HCF+KK is a level 2, but I guess it does do a little mroe dmaage than usula. But since she's kiking I tought itb be natural to have her do more damage.
 -Well Senretsu Kyaku or Senrekusen takes the same command as Shichisei Senkuu Kyaku on the ground, so I had no choice but to give the ground version of her level 3 a different one.
 -MSH? Don't ya mean X-Men vs Street Fighter? You can channge the Hyper Effects in the Config.txt if ya dont want those. I added them because X-Men vs Street Fighter was perfect. MvC2 was broken as hell...
 -Stand CLSNs...idk not really sure...
 -Level 3 portrait is by AznPerson569M

For Dr.Doom (I wsa nto realy muhc of a Dr.Doom palyer but I decided ot make ihm for EoH as wel.)
 - Notice the typos I did? (actually on purpose) It happens when you are in a rush lol
 - For all my normal damaging hypers, it will always be around 228-247. Besides 200 or less sounds like a weak CvS super.
 - Photon Array varies in damage the closer you are to the opponent, if more rays hit, more damage of course, in MvC2 this super was abused (idk I never really watched Dr.Doom combo vids or anything) all the time when close up in the air doing massive damage.
 - Sphere Flame - Well Dr.Doom is tall as hell, so it will obviously miss short opponents, also after releasing him I noticed it doesnt even hit some normal sized opponents, I've fixed that but forgot to add him again on my website.
 - The misses of the basics must be because I either forgot to add a Width code...or Dr.Doom is just too damn tall...
Also, the Stand A, B, I need to fix of course.
 - Doom aint meant to combo naturally like he does in MvC2, since this is EoH, it's always gonna be different. And let me tell ya I did NOT like MvC2, it didnt feel the same way like MSH vs SF or X-Men vs SF. I'm just but I wanted the comboing to feel somewhat different than normal. If this Doom didn't impress you, there's always Kamekaze's perfect MvC2 Doom. Don't take it personally, jus ta fact on why I dont aim for perfect MvC, or MvC2.

Chun-Li's Spinning Bird Kick was a charge move in at least SF2, actually. and yeah, XvsSF, I get those mixed up at times. :x
The hyper ports are fine though, since it's something different.

Doom actually can combo; I have done a little of it with Kamekaze's Dr. Doom. I believe it's a width code causing the point blank misses as well. I didn't say it didn't impress me, just used to him being able to combo a little :V
