Hey, its been a while since I posted on here, but what's up? Anyways, I don't really look through the forums anymore but I was just going through links and saw this thread on the project X website. The stuff here looks fantastic. The only suggestion I really have is using that wolverine attack absorption animation you made on marvel the outsider. At least, I believe that was you. She ran by and took the ability to use his claws. Pretty damn fierce if you ask me. Its your call though, as I can see why that would be difficult (having a second moveset and all)

Yeah, that was me. Rogue will have 3 things one day, claws, wings and a tail. The wings and tails will be helpers attached to the char while the claws will be separate animations for the normal attacks (anim 200 through 650)

So if she, say, absorbs Angel's powers she grows wings?

I haven't read the comics thoroughly but I'm not sure if Rogue can do that

So does that mean that you're planning to incorporate the fact that (most times) rogue takes on the physical characteristics of those she imprints?  I'm only asking because I saw you mention her having a tail... this would be from Nightcrawler right?   If that is the case, I find it unbelievably cool.    I always liked it better when the artist/writer teams would make Rogue take on some physical aspect of those she touched.   

She looked very cool in a few issues where she absorbed Nightcrawler, Colossus and Shadowcat (among others) and she had blue skin, yellow eyes and metal arms.

Correct, the tail for Nightcrawler, the claws for Wolvie and the wings for Angel. It'll be a lot of work, but then again so is everything else with Rogue. I think everyone will be very happy with the first release.

No doubt.  Everything that has been shown for PX so far has been great.  I was very happy when I saw that Rogue had been added to that project.   She's easily one of Marvel's best female characters.   You're doing awesome stuff with her too.

A question though.. seeing as how you'll be changing her appearance for some of the imprints ... will they have a time limit and wear off (which would be more accurate to the character)?   Or will she carry the changes until she absorbs someone else (like Eli's Rogue.)   Or just have the extra abilities for that round and start fresh in the next round of the match?

A tremendous amount of respect is due to anyone who decides to understake a project as complicated as this!  No doubt the entire community salutes you and all putting in effort to make this character great!  Project X is showing itself to be an awesome production team and, as I continue to slowly build my own designing skills, I can't wait to one day contribute to a community that has given so much while asking for so little!!!  Outstanding, everybody!

So I thought I'd just put in my two cents.  Sorry if these comments have been mentioned already but I don't read EVERY post!

If Rogue absorbed Wolverine's powers, shouldn't she just get his regeneration?  If you already did sprites for her claws, whatever, I'm just saying regeneration would be less work and more accurate to the character.

And further on that, I may suggest an unpopular opinion here...spending time creating new sprites for EVERY DARN MUGEN CHAR she absorbs powers from would be insane.  I think it was said earlier that the people making this char weren't going to do that and I agree.  Look at how much time has been put into the "Parasite" character at Scruffydragons - sure, the product is alright but it's really time consuming and it just seems to keep coming out with more and more updates.  I really hope that Rogue for Project X turns out great and doesn't completely tie up those creating her.  Ultimately what I want to say here is that I hope you don't spread yourself too thin.  Go for quality over quantity!  If it were me - and it AIN'T but if it were - I'd focus on doing a good job of Rogue absorbing powers of other chars in Project X (maybe a few other X-Men related characters that are not in Project X) and then just have the defaults for the other mugen chars.

i dont know how will be Acey wish here,but i tink she should absorve only mutant powers. she dont should gain heat vison if get superman, IMO.

The way this rogue works with steal powers is a bit diferent from others rogues around and capcom'rogue.... but will let Acey explain... or keep surprise... but i can say one thing, she is one of our must fun chars.

def on point zvitor, a character regardless of havin sharp and flashy fx, good quality in sprites, but if it aint fun then all that hard work tanks down the drain *Iceman ThumbsDown!*

when i say quality,im talking about sprites, because usually when some1 say "quality over quantity" isreferto quantity or quality of sprites, what i mean is:

well coded and nice to play char is better then a nice sprited char with bad moveset and bugs

yeh i really dont mind waiting for rogue to be done, no rush, i rather she comes out enjoyable then a trainwreck cause peeps cant wait for good fun and quality. I am learning that myself  ;) heck if she can absorb 50 peeps abililities and its all implemented good, i will enjoy her for sure. she wll be worth the wait. :thumbsup:

I think we're on the same page, zvitor.  By "quality", I meant a smooth coding, good spirits and playability - all of which produce the state of fun that we all seek from this passtime.  If she only has a few "special powersets" that she absorbs - meaning her appearance changes and her playability changes with her newly gained powers - and the creators only have a limited amount of time before releasing her before moving onto another project or just carrying on with life outside of Mugen, then all I'm hoping is that the creator(s) focus on making a FEW HIGH QUALITY powersets (spriting/coding/creativity) rather than MANY LOW QUALITY powersets

But I digress.

Getting back to the most important part, long live this wonderful project and much health and power to the dedicated souls who are making my comic books dreams come true!

I think you guys are overthinking this. If Rogue has an Optic Blast then she has an Optic Blast, it's pretty hard to screw that up although I'm sure its very possible.

One thing that couldn't quite make it for the big Second Coming release was Rogue's sprite update. ZVitor even stepped in to finish off coding Rogue's stolen power set so that I'd have more time for the costume but it turned out to bee a little too intricate to complete by the release date. We're getting close to the finish line though so I thought I'd show you all how its turning out:

Actually they are all for Project X. You might have noticed all of the palettes in Project X follow the same theme.

Pal 1 - 3 is the new costume
Pal 4 - 5 is the classic cosutme
Pal 6 is the X-Force costume
