The Tardis

[The Doctor]

Here's my entry for the MFG Stage Creation Competition.
It's the Doctor's Tardis from the 1980's era of Doctor Who.

This is a composite of 5 screenshots so to show the entire stage.

The sprites are original.
I manually rotoscoped most of it.
Some elements were created from scratch and some were copied and pasted from the original picture.

The console is fully animated, with all sorts of blinking and glowing lighting.

The panel on the right (under Mars People's "MAXIMUM") doubles as a window and a display screen. Throughout the fight, the panel opens and closes to reveal the stars of outer-space, two of the Doctor's top foes and a galactic collision...all fully animated.

I threw in one little extra bit of experimental coding. See if you can spot it. I can't tell if it might be subtle to others or too much.

I've thought of this.
The only Doctor that would work in a fighting game is #3, Jon Pertwee.

He's the only Doctor that got physical. He practiced Venusian Aikido (or Karate).
The rest were very much against violence.

Even if you ignored that fact, it would take years to make properly. All 11 incarnations would have to be sprited.

True, but also Tennant also had the sword fight, and a creator could make uses of other things like the screwdriver. WOuld be really hard anyway though. Still nice to think of.

I agree that the 3rd doctor would make the most sence for mugen, but you could do the 10th, he'd have helpers and he was in more then one sword fight. Daleks and Cybermen could come in to attack and The Doctor could dodge and they would attack the enemy, sort of like jill from mvc with the zombies.

If you made a character just of the 3rd doctor, couldn't you have a hyper or something (like Magus's IronMan) where his other incarnations randomly come to help out?  It would be a nice way to pay homage to all the different ones, as everyone has a different favorite.

you almost have to make a Master, he would be perfect for MUGEN
especaly at the end of Tennants series when he has "super powers"

The Master would be awesome to include in MUGEN... but what about Jack Harkness from Torchwood?  Now HE would be an interesting addition to anyone's roster!

Doctor Who wouldnt be hard to make. Id say get Race45 and Acey to custom up a CVS2Kyosuke, change his voice and moves, add some Dr. Who background pics too.

Thanks for the comments and yes, I'm already scouting out ways to make the Matt Smith console room.

I'm thinking of going HD with it...I don't know, we'll see.
