I don't think

of individuals are aware that a Black Panther Animated Series is being produced, but here's the run-down:

Black Panther is an American cartoon series by Marvel Animation in partnership with BET, based on the popular Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. Black Panther will mark the first time BET has produced an animated television series.

The series made its world premiere on the Australian children's channel ABC3 on January 16, 2010. The series made its premiere online in North America under the title Black Panther: Who is the Black Panther? on June 23, 2010 through iTunes, Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Zune. It will be released on DVD in 2010 through Shout! Factory.

Background
At a presentation held in New York City in April 2008, BET announced that it had signed a deal with Marvel Comics to turn Black Panther into a primetime half-hour animated series. The show will be supervised by Reginald Hudlin who is currently the President of Entertainment at BET and also wrote, along with John Romita, Jr. as the artist, the story arc of the Black Panther comic entitled "Who is the Black Panther?" on which the first six episodes will be based before the series begins to tell its own story. Only subtle deviations from the comic exist, such as replacing Rhino with Juggernaut. In July 2008 at the San Diego Comic-Con International, the first footage of the series was shown publicly, brandishing an art style that was like a comic book come to life.

Two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou has been cast to voice T'Challa/Black Panther.The series was directed by Mark Brooks. The theme song was composed by Stephen James Taylor in an ancient Wakandan dialect (a Bantu-based language of his creation).

The first full six episodes of the series have been aired on Australia's ABC3. In North America, the six episodes will be split in two making a total of twelve episodes

I tried finding the episodes, but I think we'll have to wait till it gets to the US. And holy cow they have Djimon Hounsou voicing Black Panther!

Its about time... But i think just becuz it's on BET doesn't mean that it has to bring a hip hop feel into it. For example, look at what happened to Static Shock on WB... It was a good cartoon but it really over did it with the urban like style it had in there, and this is so not needed with the Black Panther. They just need to keep in the stuff that made him tight to begin with.. No hip hop, just good orchestrated music like DC usually has like in batman, superman, or what marvel had in Spiderman (90's cartoon)

I'm just saying this cus i saw this same mistake happen with

of cartoons based off of Black people where creators feel they must add some hip hop and urban crap in there just cus of how America portrays African Americans.. I think that is very ignorant and i hope that this cartoon will show people another side...

Basically what i'm saying, i want this cartoon to get the same treatment as the other good ones like Spiderman, Superman, Batman, or like new marvel movies...

BET PLEASE DONT MESS THIS CARTOON UP!!! CUS IF YOU DO THEN WE MIGHT NOT GET ANOTHER CHANCE TO HAVE A BLACK SUPER HERO WITH HIS OR HER OWN CARTOON!!!

Having already seen the first 6 episodes, I can safely tell you, that it was good, and didn't suck.

R@CE 45 I definetly agree on that totally. as with all everyone is saying. I am black and really dont wanna see the black panther get a jay z beat going in a fight scene. static shock to me was a good cartoon indeed and i can say i do understand the hip hop tone of the show, he was created with that kind of appeal from the start. now the black panther isnt based off any hip hop culture so i feel they should not implement that in there because he is african. We do already get a bad wrap because of the urban shows and people truly think thats how we are in reality 24/7. i grew up on R&B. jazz and the real early stages of rap music. i believe the black panther does not have to be placed in the new culture of hip hop thats abundant. heck man i even listen to heavy metal! just because i listen to something doesnt mean that that has to be a show to. lets just hope BET dont screw up a black super hero. please lawd dont!

See what i mean guys, and man i'm sorry but already they have messed this cartoon up, cus the intro theme sucks!!! they tried to put some hip hop in there just cus its a black super hero and now the theme is wack (Meaning its not good because they tried to be cool and hip because they think it will bring in

of blacks and others who like hip-hop) But it fails as a cheesy attempt to make (what could have been) a tight intro...

But if you think i'm taking this too seriously, then let remind me of an example of a good Black super Hero intro that was tight. Remember Blade's intro from Blade 2 the movie. Remember the theme they made from it, well listen to this

Now that's a real theme music, music in the series should sound good like this, but oh nooooooo, its just got to have some hip hop in it!! RRRrrr Man BET makes me so mad!!! $\-/o$

I'm trying to figure out why their hasn't been any type of advertising for this cartoon. The anime IronMan and Wolverine even had more advertising than the Black Panther...and the Black Panther has been out longer.

I'm going to assume that this cartoon is pretty good since Whiplash has already seen the first six episodes.

Yeah, was pretty intense. My only beef was that it was animated in flash, so the animation kinda sucked.

Yeah it is kind of old news, but I sure didn't know they already made and aired six episodes.

Static could get away with an urban twist. A young African American male who happened to have some powers. The hip hop music fit. Black Panther should not have hip hop playing in the background of a big battle. Just doesn't fit the character at all.

its animated in f#@$#@$ flash!!! awe man that truly sucks. i wonder why he couldnt get the Avengers movie animated type. see messing up a brotha already!!!

. and god no i hope the battle scenes arent floopy or all stiff and got wacktacular soundtracks playin for the fights. they need a Conan anvil of crom beat or something for fght scenes. hahaha i got that mp3 in my mugen for one of my stages. IT Bangs!!

It doesn't have hip-hop music in it guys, (it barely had music at all...) and it is animated in flash. Which sucked.

Though, the fights were pretty damn intense.

aw damnz that music was pretty catchey too. no wonder in the detail the author mentioned "Edit"...
eh anyway looks cool for an intro. that music actually fits 100% especially since i never saw the d@mn intro before

no, that's the actual intro. I just don't remember the music being all that outstanding, or anything.
