DAMN!!!! Talk about mean! Most of the critics at RT had nothing good to say. Well, I suspect 2 reasons why:

1) Most of them don't like M. Shyamalan
2) Most of them have never watched Avatar: The last Air Bender

Other than the insults to the director, most of them don't really seem to understand that some of their complaints about the movie are elements from the show. My only complaints, however, are similar to the ones that most of the fans of the cartoon have...but I'll leave that for another discussion.

Well, I've never been one for critics, so I'm still gonna see the movie with an open mind and hope that the movie stays faithful along the lines of the cartoon  :w00t:

A friend of mine saw it at midnight. He went on a Facebook status tirade against the movie. :O

i havent seen it yet but plan on seeing it this weekend. i am a fan of the cartoon. my kids and nephew love it.  you kind of have to have the mind set of a child and try to enjoy tha fact that its Avtar the last airbender Ang  in movie form i guess. definetly have to see this with an open mind and be a kid at heart. when you become too much a die hard fandom type person th elements of the show to movie thing looses its vitality. mainly because its not an EXACT port of the show. Very hard to do that when the cartoon been on for years with a ton of episodes and here they pulling it all in one movie. As stated before, critics dont seem to like M.Knight very much anyway or and they never really watched the cartoon. For me, i wont be too critcal about this movie that much especially since its really geared towards the kids that watch the cartoopn. i think us grown ups go a lil too far reading in to what we wanna see in the catoon to movie transitions. heck we even do video games to movies the same way. ahhhhh lighten up critics,.

Hey DT, go see it  or just wait till it comes to dvd, ( which never seems to take movies long these days, lol) but at least see it for yourself. if ya got kids or some nieces or nephews that like the cartoon, take them.  I missed out on a great movie, Ninja Assassin, cause i listened to a friend at work, but when i decided to get  it off the computer and put it on my flash card months later and i was truly amazed at how much i actually liked it. i say dont listen to everybody else. be ya own critic.

Not really all that surprising. The movie was still made by M. Night Shyamalan. You know how most of his movies end up.

After reading the statements I quoted above your post 8=| I don't think I can go see this movie. I couldn't stand Lady in the water. If Airbender is only half as bad as that, then it still sucks. If someone would rather watch Twilight movies  o.O# I don't feel like wasting $10.00 tonight. I think that I would rather go see Toy Story 3.

That's the best choice ever to me. And you know what's worst? I actually had high hopes for this movie! Also is this really going to be a trilogy?! If so, M. Night should sit this one out and watch the whole series before he's ready to do another one.

HAHA dang as much as I want to see it I may have to sit this one out and save my money because DBE got the same kinda reviews and I waited until it was on HBO to see it and it was the best decision I ever made(not really the best but yea)

I'm pretty much throwing my money down & calling this film franchise dead considering the general public basically watched M. Night drop it on its head...

repeatedly...  :-j

Wow, its hard to say but alot of these fans that went to go watch this movie are so damn nerdy man.

I mean damn, all these geeky dudes should have gone to see Twilight cause thats where all the hot, desperate for love girls are... LMAO..

Back on topic, now these young kids know what us older crowd feels when Hollywood f#*#s up Street Fighter TWICE, Mortal Kombat ect ect ect...

Hollywood sucks and we should start new movie studios.

So does anyone have their own opinions on why this movie sucks, besides, " OMG! THIS MOVIE SUCKS!!!1" and "its M.Night"? Not knocking anyone down, but I would like to hear valid reasons and not just links to a bunch of "critics" that have never seen the show themselves.

I haven't seen it, but I still might(if I'm not too busy).

I jus came back from the movies, It's not BAD, rather, its just inacurate lol. However one complaint for me was the tone of the movie, I mean, the did no justice to Sokka who should have been the main comic relief! IMO it was too serious of a movie
