Theres some great retro sidescroller game announcements ever since Super Mario Brothers Wii.

Sonic 4, Batman Brave, and Bold, and now DK Country Wii. I probably will be picking up all of these.

IMO  they are giving the fans what they want. Who cares about revolutionary. We want to see our favorites come back. I was always a fan of the DK country series. It's about time Nintendo brought it back

And lets face it, making all these retro games is the edge that keeps nintendo selling. The Teens, and Gen Y'rs of course like all these Ps3, 360 games that look great, but quite frankly bore me because they all play like the same game to me. Sowhile the other 2 have graphic masterpieces Nintendo is selling games to a lot of aging Gen X'rs like me that got the Wii for their kids and end up digging it, or it appeals to people overseas who have been playing the old games for free for the 1st time through emulators in the present. Thats a pretty broad range of appeal. Its good business if you ask me. :-??

I agree with you 100%. Alot of these retro games are well done and i appreciate nintendo revisiting its roots and all.I loved DKC and will likely enjoy the New DKC to no end. I just feel like in general regardless of what is said or how you feel we criticize developers for rehashing ideas. Why does Nintendo get a pass?

Because Nintendo is rehashing ideas that are 25 years old. The other developers are rehashing the same ideas over, and over that people are sick of. Thats the reason I dont have a PS3, or 360. Theres only 3-4 games for each system I like because all the rest is rehashed crap. For that many games I can play while kicking back with my friends at their house.

I got a Wii for my kid, but I have found 6 games I enjoy playing right off the bat because they are familiar territory. For teens I can see why they throw down rehash card, but for me It's stuff I can play, get into, and not deal with the crap.

Now if all Nintendo releases is right to left scrollers for the next 2 years I'll I get burnt out, and annoyed just like I did my Genesis yeaaaaars ago.

No, We need a new F-zero, Frig, Nintendo may think it won't any money but I do, I mean, it's one of the best racing series ever made for god's sake, As long as they don't include crappy motion controls it'd be fine.

100% Agree. I loved GX, so much so, that I beat the entire story mode on very hard, and anyone who has played the game knows how insanely difficult that is. GX is such an underrated game, the music is great, the graphics were amazing for its time and the gameplay was faced pace and in your face (lol rhyme). I put so many hours into that game and I'd probably put the same amount into an F-zero for the 3DS or Wii.

Yeah it is really awesome to see a new DKC coming out hopefully we will some other classic nintendo series come back better than ever. Though I must say after see the new DKC it got me thinking on how I wish that rare do a new Banjo Kazooie that is more true to the N64 ones unlike the that cr@ppy nuts and bolts one for the 360.

Maybe the idea will catch on. Vectorman for 360 would rule with their level of Graphics.

Yeah I hope it does catch on. A new Vectroman would be awesome but, I do not know if they would cause they tried to make one for the first xbox and scrapped it half way through production. Also it was going to be a third person shooter.
