...So they arnt exactly the same character, they look enough alike and taking moves from Rockman Shadow would be good to give Quint more things to do then just bouncing and making rocks shoot out of the ground.

That's what I'm getting at. It's not like our game is going to be any more cannonical then any other fan-made Rockman game that gets made, so might as well explore the liberties we can use to get the most out of what we can.

Quint should have two fighting modes (changeable during the fight): with and without Sakugarne. In the first mode, Sakugarne would act like Rush, following Quint. In the second, Quint would ride Sakugarne, thus changing his moveset.

About that Quint having two modes? Sure.
Quint mode - He rides Sakugarne all the time.
R-Shadow Mode - Sakugarne is a constant like Rush.

Eh, this is getting nowhere guys, Quint stays Quint and Rockman Shadow goes somewhere else.  This topic is about Quint, if someone wants to make Rockman Shadow then go ahead and make new WIP.  Though Rockman Shadow is not canon nor is Rockman & Forte: Mirai Kara no Chousensha, but he can be made as a standalone character.   :-??

Well to get technicial, neither is Rockman & Forte to begin with, Inafune even said so. That didn't stop ChAoTiC from incorperating stuff from that game into his Bass.

My stance is that Quint has no real basis as a stand-alone, so why not steal stuff from R-Shadow since they are practically the same? It'll give him some purpose as a character people will want to play as.

Um, Keiji Inafune restracted that statement as you can see Rockman & Forte reference appears in the ending of Rockman 9 along with the other Rockman 1-8.  Inafune calls Rockman & Forte Rockman 8.5.  They are not the same and there for should be created as different characters.  I have many ideas for Quint to make him a sweet character, but will share with others who are working on him.

Its the mega man wiki. Thats where i got my into on quint and Shadow among other places.

@ WHO EVER

Look if you want a R-Shadow wip then make a thread. To combine the two is not cool. For me its going against by beliefs as an character artist. That's what i do in life, im a character artist/ Writer and animator. to fuse the too is to make a new character that doesnt pay homage to the original ideal and goes against how i treat character. to yall they may be some made up idea but for me there a lil more.


I guess ill set somethings out about this W.i.p.

Sakugarne  is going to fallow Quint and be used for attacks.

He has more mores then just jumping up and down on Sakugarne. HE'S MEGA MAN. HE WAS REPROGRAMMED, NOT REBUILT. SO....he has a blaster (im doing a double shot with both arms for him) he can copy, and maybe fuse with Sakugarne . ....

Now the mode change idea i do like tho.

Hm? Not sure what you mean, but that "HP" was meant to be an "HK" for the recent attacking sprites. I was pretty tired at the moment when I posted that. :D

I have to say that I like this idea very much. Quint's Mega Man from the future, so why not use advanced fighting techniques? ;) Great job on those, Nila! :thumbsup:

On the subject of Quint having been stuck with only Sakugarne, the most likely explanation is this; in the future, peace was finally restored (sometime after Dr. Wily croaked, most likely :P), so Mega Man was remodeled back into a household robot. Of course, he was totally caught off guard when Dr. Wily came into the future and...well, you know the rest.
