Does anyone here write or record music?

Just wondering why there's no music thread for independent artists. Even if it's just something you do as a hobby. I just thought it would be a cool idea...

I think that should be seperate. You get all these guys on fruity loops passing things around that would just drown out the other artists that use actual hardware, or traditional music equipment. PC based creation tools should be it's own animal if thats the intent.

My point was that if youre all using a similar program to share, and mix youre excluding those that cant participate. Therefore make a specific thread for those that are using that particular software. If your simply using the thread to promote, and share music you should be on equal footing with everyone. I am only talking about the remixing element.

I admit I have never enjoyed the PC programs. It just never felt as good to me as spinning the dial and sequencing bass rythems on a cold, steel Analog synth. I do use them for vocal samples, sound effects, and equalizing. However I have never had a problem with those that do.

I used to post at Williams Street on Adult Swim, and the fruity loops guys just linked, and chatted like they were in their own kliq kinda dominating the threads. That was where my logic stemmed.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to make a fruity loop thread either, it just my music is pretty much open source just in case someone wants to make it better.  They could just PM me if they want the song or the file.  Its the only music program I know how to use and got it free  without paying the whooping $400.

My college has a studio and i make beats for some of my classmates on Logic pro.

I've got my old band's demo still, really weird rock/metal with ridiculous vocals, a Streets of Rage cover and a token rap song (but still weird).  All my projects since except for one have been lost to hard drive crashes *boo hoo*....
