With all of the jokes aside, Japan has a very strict culture. So it's not surprising that the stability of their relationships don't last very long or if some indiviuals are resorting to dating inanimate objects. And since working is everyones first priority, everyone is usually too tired to interact with their partners when they come home from work. But this is just my opinion.
And it seems very evident from the article that Women are more dominant than men in Japanese cultures.
