Captain Falcon Released
« on: February 26, 2010, 07:20:14 PM »

changelog:
-Intro bug fixed
-Throw escape bug fixed
-added super jump sound

http://kamekaze.clubsyn-x-treme.net/

Oh man, where to begin. I guess it all started back when G.M. spectre release those falcon sprites as open sourced. I was approached by Shwa on whether i should do something with them. I agreed to, this was about 2 months ago. I started on falcon 3 times. The first 2 I stopped because I noticed he was missing several important anims and frames. Little did I know that Shwa would make those very frames. Which jump started my third attempt in which, after about 3 weeks, led to this.

Anywho, as I know many of you are thinking, how does Cpt. Falcon play? Well to sum it up, I combined some elements from BlazBlue, and Guilty Gear. Then mixed in alot of my original ideas to make him both easy to learn yet hard to master. So before anyone brings this up ,HE DOES NOT PLAY LIKE ANY VERSION OF SUPER SMASH BROTHERS AND HE NEVER WILL!!!!

Secondly, he uses the button mapping scheme of BlazBlue, which means 4 buttons, one being the main button that uses most of his special attacks. I use the notation ABCD, in my readme. However, I also spell out what buttons they actually are. The reason behind this is because people can and will change the button mapping to fit thier style, so its easier to put a global command list to adjust.

Finally, I am only taking feedbacks and comments, no suggestions please, at least if you do make it a pm!. Also, if you want to use him in winmugen, change his foldername to this: "C.FalconW"

Also I'd like to thank all the beta testers for their work.

Only one major problem: He doesn't play like SSB. lol

Seriously though great character. Finally time to overload the universe with 2 FALCON PAUNCHes at the same time.

Graphically, you may want to add the Falcon symbol onto his back.

Dang man, thanks for the Captain. Your other two original characters are awesome in my opinion so I'm guessing he's going to be pretty good especially if his play style is a mix between Blazblue, GG, and your own. Thanks again.

I know, I just figured it seemed like some kind of change you could make to it, I would not be too difficult I don't think, but certainly not essential.

It does work, but kamekaze makes chars for 1.0 and then has a combatible version for win.

Because WimMugen and Mugen 1.0 have some differences in code/palettes/etc.  Same for some stages, if you don't set them up correct, they'll lag like shet.

Ah, ok then. Sry about that. I'm still not too familiar with MUGEN 1.0 and the differences... I'm waiting for them to get out of the Release Candidate stage.

Feedback: He's pretty darn good... The effects are nicely done. I am not too familiar with the buttons that were set up the way they were for this character... so.... yeah.. That's one thing I don't like about it. I'm used to almost every character of mine having the same buttons. But variety is good sometimes. His falcon punch should be a special move and not a regular punch, in my opinion. It takes too long to charge as well to be a regular punch.

mugen 1.0 uses better sctrls than winmugen. Which is why he was going to be exclussively 1.0 untill I changed my mind. for example "AILevel" kills any other AI activitvation method period. It's built in and will work instantaneously. Much better than that impossible command var(59) crap.

Nice job! I'm so glad to see a serious version of this guy!  Doesn't seem to have very many moves though. I was expecting some original ones, along with his own moves from SSBB. I can't really say I'm diggin the game play style though. He's still solid, and I thank you for his release! We needed him!  ::salute::

That was taken from BlazBlue which has some supers assigned to one button, and his falcon punch IS a special move. The charge up time is the way it is because the falcon punch has always had a huge amount of start up time. The tricky part of playing with him is learning how to chain into or out of it. Which is why i said hes easy to pick up but hard to master.

- Captain Falcon never had that many moves to begin with
- I gave him a original hyper, he doesn't need anything else.
- The gameplay does take some getting used to, but at the time that's the way I want it to be.

Thanks a lot for making my day. I played him longer than 5 minutes and he's awesome. Also nice to make him Winmugen compatible too, because I think I'll most likely play as him rather than fighting against him. Nothing much I can say about the character, but the only thing is Falcon Punch suppose to be intentionally blockable? It can still knock an opponent to the wall even when blocking. Otherwise, thanks for the great release.

Character of the year! XP
Agreed for sure. Maybe no other character can beat his awesomeness.

It's true, he never had any moves. But this isn't SSBB either...! However, he is your creation and I can't argue with that. I still say thanks because you did a really good job Just as he is. And YES!! That game play DOES take some getting used to...! I'm more of a 6-button man myself...
