Apparently Disney.... I mean Marvel is looking for Captain America (Steve Rogers) candidates for the live-action movie.

Jim (from The Office) is actually a candidate.. In my opinion, good pick because of his personality. He's pretty cool and funny on The Office. John Krasinski is his actual name.

Another candidate is Michael Cassidy, who played Grant Gabriel in the Smallville show in Season 7 as..... "Julian Luthor, the cloned and aged brother of Lex."

This movie is also apparently being directed by the same guy who directed Wolfman, Joe Johnston...

Opinions anyone?

Cap (Steve) is a large (muscular) blonde strong looking guy. The people look too small for him.

Matt Damon has so much cakeface to be steve Rogers...

Now, the best actor for this will be Matthew McConaughey

I don't really like either of these candidates, because they seem to... scrawny. C America has greater strength then olyimpic athletes, so I imagine a more buff looking guy.

i remember hearing a bs story about will smith being cap, but that's all i'm gonna take as, a rumour. I used to joke about hardcore holly that used to be in the wwe making a funny captain america

I'd say Thomas Jane after 5 to 6 months of weight training... He's got the look and the right attitude to be a modern day Cap???

I quite liked him as Kirk, not sure how he'd handle Cap America though.

Im having a hard time picturing Jim from the office as Captain America....
specaly when the latest comerical shows him putting a diper on a cat.

They can't screw up and pick a scrawny guy to play the hero.

You need to get someone who demands attention once he walks into a room. He has to have the chin and the mass. He can't be a thin little guy with 0% body fat and some muscle. He has to have the muscle and some fat to make himself appear larger than life.

Christopher Reeve worked as Superman because he was massive. He was 6'4 and 220 lbs. Brandon Routh worked pretty well but his torso was too long so he looked thin and lanky. That would've been fine had the design of his outfit been better. As it was, there was barely any red on his body. The belt for his trunks was too low (because he was practically wearing a red speedo) and the S symbol was too small. There was so much blue on him, he looked like a member of the Blue Man Group.

Um... everyone this is suppose to be a MOVIE which if I recall correctly Cap got his power from an experiment to be a Super Solider. Cap was actually a slim kid which makes these actors about right for the before Cap America, not after. I would agree that they would not fit into the Cap America statue.

I'm thinking of John Cena with bleached hair to be Cap. He has a strong chin and the body size is about right.

Ben Affleck will not wear another suit, otherwise we would see a Daredevil 2 movie.

I agree that Chris Pine would be a decent choice. The other two candidates from the first post look like preppy 15 year olds which the Cap definitely isn't. Seeing how Disney is calling the shots now, it will probably be someone even younger and more girlie looking than those two.

Really? this is probably the only person I can think of would be able to do a decent role for the character. My actual second choice might be Chris Evans from Fantastic Four movies and PUSH.

...but yeah...he's a pretty bad actor and worse wrestler.Chris Pine might be a good choice
