Xbox Corrupt Profile

i bought assasin's creed 2 today and my brother has been playing it. after he saved and went to the dashboard his gamerscore went to 0 and everything says corrupted for his profile. we tried to figure out how to fix the problem and he deleted his profile. after that he recovered it on xboxlive but nothing's changed
any idea on ho to fix this, and is it the assasin's creed that did this. i was thinking maybe it happened because he doesn't update games when he signs in. we made a new profile and saved to see what would happen but its not corrupt. idk if its because that file is not up to what he was in his profile or if its just his profile acting up. i want to test it on mine and see what happens but i can lose my files and gamerscore.
what do u guys think? should i not try it and just return the assasin's creed 2 for another one?

The problem sounds like the save file. Unfortunately, he will have to go to system settings, then delete the save file and start over... I know how p*ssed he could be right now.. the same thing happened to Marvel Ultimate Alliance and I never played it again because I was so far! Did you buy a warranty with the game? Try getting an exchange saying that the game may be corrupt as well... because it could be too. You definitely want to make sure the same thing doesn't happen twice. If you didn't buy a warranty with it... here's a little trick.. If you can still purchase one, then purchase one... then return it days later saying that it was not acting right and that you request a new copy.

Also, definitely update the game first and see if it still says corrupt file! Definitely try that first. I got the update the first time I played it and the game worked fine for me even when playing it for a straight 7 hours...

i bought it used. i can return it as long as its within 7days. i think i'll just take it back tomorrow for another copy just to be safe

You can also try to use it on the extra profile that can be used on the 360, and if it doesn't mess up that gamertag, then it might be the game itself.

Usually it is the game... Did your brother make sure to not turn it off or go to a different screen on the xbox while it was autosaving.. that could be why it has become corrupt. The little triangle symbol shows when it's autosaving. I would say wait at least 20-30 seconds before shutting off after completing any mission, sequence, or discovering new places.

The game is very addictive.. so he could get to the sequence he was at quite quick... tell him to frequently visit the healer dude... only worry about the missions, codex pages, and armor and weapon upgrades... Although, I would wait to upgrade armor every 2 sequences maybe....
