Marvel vs Capcom - Eternity of Heroes: Gambit WIP by DCL

Title pretty much says it all, here's a video of him as well showing his basics...


Video Info:
Stage: The Matrix (Blue color by me)
Music: Motorhead - Line in the Sand (Evolution)

Description:

A brand new WIP of mine...

I know, if you've seen my website, Dan was supposed to be next, but I got tired of making Shotoclone characters...so I decided that's it's time for a Marvel (Oh wait...damn you Disney...) character, Gambit.

So far, over the past week, the basics are finally finished except for the Gambit sounds. I haven't gotten them yet but I will soon. Also, I did what I could to match the animations from the real games such as X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel vs Capcom, and Marvel vs Capcom 2. Hopefully they'll be exact and not...crappy or crappy like most people always complain, especially the gameplay.

Last, I added a "blur" effect to the swings from his basic attacks. watch Gambit's staff closely and you might see the blur effects.

Throws have been finished as well but the stabbing throw isn't as accurate.

Looks pretty good, was that Stabbing throw ever in any of the games? I don't remember it. very cool, though

If this is anything like your Sakura- I'm really excited.
I hope he has some unique moves/modes that set him apart from the other Gambit's too.

This is unexpected. I was thinking you started Dan already, but you made Gambit instead? I had an idea with a Marvel character with that gameplay, but it sure wasn't Gambit. This really gain my interest. I also noticed but you should use a different sound when Gambit swings his pole during his punches. Perhaps, the sound used from Rolento when he attacks with his rod in CvS2 or SFA3? Anyway, good luck with this project and make this an awesome character just like your Sakura. :thumbsup:

Hope this doesn't cancel the already announced wips like Alex though. I look forward to see you do those characters too.

This is my work, I'm using no other Gambit as a base so I started this from scratch using a template of course.

Im a big fan of your work and i have all of your characters. I think they all have excellent coding and i see things in your characters that i normally dont see in others. U maintain the accuarate parts of the mvc2 style gameplay but  ualso add in original stuff that really brings the character out. Its like u r getting what u expected then bonus stuff thats good as well....


And just like your other works, gambit seems like he is getting that very same treatment. Dude i say go 4 it, i cant wait, and if u do decide to do another marvel, i think it should be sabertooth....  :w00t:  :)

I know...but...they just don't understand that Mugen is customizable...and also this char is Eternity of Heroes style...
It's hard for them to get it through their thick skulls because what would be the point to make it exactly like the real game when you can just play it? If they don;t lik eit...then why don;t they make their own then? I don't understand them...

Ah R@CE 45, that's very kind of you to say. But just to let you know, that sometimes I'm not that accurate in making the animations. There's always a small problem that when someone sees, there is a very high chance (I place my wager: My current WIPs) that few if not thousands of people, will start complaining about it. Trust me...I know...

And yes, I do get what I expect from the characters I make/edit, as well as add my own custom attacks. Isn't that why Mugen was made for?

Yup, I've started this little thing right after I finished the Ken I "remade". It started with Sakura, she went under the treatment of "Dark Aura" which explains why her main palette is black. Gambit as well, is gonna be getting the same, the treatment of "Dark Aura". I'll keep in mind the Sabretooth idea of yours. I'm just not sure since I'm not very fond of Marvel (oh wait...Disney...*sigh*) characters except for Wolverine and Gambit.

I've decided to use a different damage control this time, so I was wondering if anyone would like to help me develop a damage code, especially for the supers on Gambit. The old damage variable I used isn't giving me the best results any more.

So anyone kind enough to lend me a hand?  :(

Sorry i dont kno about damage codes too well, and the reason i said sabertooth is cus i think he needs that savage version of him... Ya kno, how he gets when he goes berserk ,plus maybe with the adamantium maybe (pallete edit with dif sound effects)

That could the Dark Aura version of him ya kno?....

Hey I see your adding some new Hypers, if it isn't too much to ask would you be able to add a new basic special or two?
Maybe I'm being greedy, but Gambit is one of my main characters in Mugen- and this is already looking to be my favorite one of all time.
(If you ever need any help with sprites like for those custom hypers or something I will gladly help you btw =O)
