MVC Breakman from MM3

It's CHAOTIC's Protoman Sprite but I made it break man from MM3


In game the little pixels on the side do not jitter like that!

You can check my status on him in my sig but more in detail will be here (for now)

Yeah, I found an article on this so called "Break Man" and your pretty much right. I can also tell there's not much sprite editing needed. Maybe his palette can be a little darker in my opinion. See for yourself if anyone wants:

Look forward to your wip. The gameplay should at least be different to the original Protoman and is not a sprite swap. If it's not, then it sounds perfect for the "Mega Man: Robot Master Mayhem" project.

He already PM'd him here and (maybe) at Reploid, so we are all waiting on his reply. Thanks for the article link Solidzone. As for editing, it wouldn't take much, just the helmet edit (which should be a tad bit bulkier by the mouth area with a Sniper Joe-like single eye and according to the article, "The key difference is that, in this armor, Proto Man does not take damage from any special weapons. Only the Mega Buster can scratch him." The coding would change some. This is a pretty interesting topic. I never knew a Break Man disguise for Protoman even existed.

Hm... I've never been good at palletes.  Thats why I chose breakman just so I don't have to do much sprite editing.

Doesn't matter, you can't mess with ChAoTiC stuff without permission so go get permission, he's on the forum so send him an PM again. The main problem I see here is that all anyone has to do is change two colors int he palette and it becomes "Breakman" so it doesn't seem like you're doing any work anyways, and to put your name on someone elses character like that is just not right.

Your pallete helps he looks better to although now his skin color is red so it looks like his mask is there he still doesn't like the mask is there nor the eye. Ok besides that he looks good.


I did pm him again but I said in this one that you (not you in specific just forum members in general because a lot are) keep bugging me to pm again.  I said that only because he hasn't been on since I pmed him the first time.

Yeah, I always figured BreakMan as a Hyper for Protoman more than a full character, but hey, if he can come up with some cool stuff, I'd welcome a full character.

P.S.: Sniper Joe's are designed from ProtoMan's base model, hence the BreakMan upgrade being very Joe-like. Also, the sprite of Protoman when he appears in GeminiMan's level is part of the frames for his BreakMan transformation.

I meant "If it's not" meaning not a sprite swap. If you do that, your pretty much editing the SFF file and not touching the coding. Plus, the gameplay is pretty much the same as to the original character you sprite swaped. If you need an example, check CyberLizard's characters and you'll see what I mean:

Well if Chaotic lets me (Nestor says he's open source) I'll release him more than that image.  Ok back to the good stuff I made him hard to damage (400 def) but the good thing is he only has 50 atk so when the enemy attacks him he loses barely any damage but when he attacks you, you lose barely any damage! So it seems you do the same amount of damage! Like when you hit him he loses 2 pixels of hp bar when he hits you, you lose 2 pixels of hp bar!

I will mess with his attack patterns to get them to look better and play differently!

Some ideads to further differentiate him from Protoman is to make a new stance and change at least the basic attacks.

Its a shot in the dark but if you want to differentiate protoman from breakman I would suggest more usage of that shield.

Things you could do with the shield:
-Make it into a weapon similar to captain america's shield.
-Have it absorb projectiles and super projectiles to help make him more of a defense character as well as a hyper where breakman uses the absorbed energy and throws it right back at his opponent.
-More Basics involving the shield.

I don't know if you'll have someone to code this for you but I figured i'd throw some ideas around to help motivate you. Best of luck on this project!
