Need help to add more than 1 character with the same name on mugen

I'm still having trouble entering characters with the same name file. Let me explain, Let's say I have more than one spiderman character done by different people and they all have the file name spiderman. When you store them in the character folder for the mugen program you are only allowed to store one file with that name. However if you change the name on the 2nd, 3rd, etc character you won't be able to appear on mugen properly. What can I do to fix this problem?

you have to make sure that the characters folder name and the name in the select .def match

Make sure than char folder and def file have the same name, ex, if you Spiderman's folder is named "spiderman2", you must rename spiderman.def to spiderman2.def

Thanks for your replys, I remembered doing this to some of the characters and made the changes suggested but the characters didn't show up in the mugen program. Is there another file I'm missing that needs to be change?

If the characters' .def file in the character folder and the folder name and the name in the select.def in the data folder match the character should show up

here an example:

in chars/character1/character1.def

in data you open the select.def file and write character1 in the area reserved for characters
