Yep, you won't be disappointed with that one. Also, look for 'Devil's Night', (I think that's the track title), it's one hell of a story. Immortal Technique is REALLY, one of the most graphic, and brutal MC's I've ever heard...but it's all good ish, REAL TALK.

That's what's up man, I like Technique cause every line he says, he says it for a reason. He doesn't just talk for the hell of it. I got the chance to see him in concert earlier this year at the 'Rock the Bells'....and man, he put on THE BEST performance that day. No joke, Nas ripped it up (as always), Talib was cool (not as good as it should've been), but Immortal Technique... ^:)^ one of the best performers I've EVER seen. He's as REAL as it gets.

Ok, I'll hit that link when I get to the crib...the one issue that I've had with many Gospel Lyricists (just pulled a name off the top), is from what I've heard, they're too narrow. EVERYTHING is about praise, or about how they were in the streets, found God, and decided to spit about it. I just feel that even as a Gospel artist, they've taken the art out of emceeing. That's just from my experience, which is why I say I need to hear more. I, personally, am not a religious person...I am, however, spiritual. I'd like to here an artist who's different, and is not afraid of their own creativity.

Have not been in this converstation for a while, an since then it has become eggy.  Honestly,  I not a big fan of rap but this is my spill.  How can you say rap artist today have the art of emceeing.  90% of rap songs are about degrading women.  How is that art?

For those who didn't listen to the rap I suggested, that makes you religous!  You listen to songs about killing and raping people but you don't do it I hope, whats the difference from listening to a song about God and not believing it.  If you didn't listen to it because you knew what content was in it before listening that a religous act.  Its the same thing as me not watching a movie because I see a warning, nudity inside.

LOS I appreciate you for at least listen and am sorry you could not find nothing you like.  However, you can't expect christian not to rap about God and not give their testimony, its what christians do
This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life!

I think u missed his point.  He's not hating on there lyrical intensity or anything.  Just saying that particullar subject doesnt peak his interest.  No need to get so serious.  Im far from religious, if anything im on my way to hell if i die now so i didnt bother listening to it.  Besides the rappers we were discussing talks more about the worlds problems, stuff that matters to the masses.  Its funny how christian rap is about God and yet many christains look down on it.  Thats not a diss in any way just thinking out loud.  Belive me we know the rappers today would rather dance than rap, but thats the mainstream artists.

Yea, that's part of it. He started Viper Records so that he could maintain ALL control over his music, as far as distribution, mixing, production, EVERYTHING. He doesn't want to have to sacrifice any of his creativity...hence everyone under his label works for HIM. He makes all decisions.

Exactly. Obviously if they are 'Christian' artists, then yes, I expected most of the subject matter to be about God or Christ...but, the point that I was trying to make was that they are limiting themselves to just that subject, which is not a realistic view of the world and what's happening in it. THAT'S what I was trying to explain before...limiting themselves doesn't make them any better, or worse than mainstream Hip Hop. I don't like either. I agree with you about mainstream Hip Hop NOT being art, but, on the contrary, artists like Immortal Technique, who's not by any means a CLEAN emcee, is still a POSITIVE and REAL emcee. He states facts, no matter how graphic, with the intent of shocking his listeners to make them more aware of what's happening in this messed up country today. So it's not just because they spit the Gospel that I was turned off...it's just not what I'd prefer to listen to. I didn't like most of the lyrical talent, and, I didn't really like any of the beats I heard, (sorry, can't remember what tracks I listened to off top). To me, there's more to life than just that. Life's not that simple, and that's funny Ace, cause on this track that I just finished yesterday, I have a line where I say, 'Lord why? I don't pray, if I died today, there's no way that I'd pass the gates.'

Like I said I not a big fan of rap, but I thought it was something that you did for fun.  Christian Rap is fun for christians who prefer not to listen to secular artists or just something they know will be clean.  It is not really meant to teach people about life issues, most music is not about teaching people.  Sorry to go preachy but in the church we are about praising =D> God ^:)^ so what we listen to is an issue of praise.  We are all born to praise we just have a choice what we will praise =D>.  For us if we had 10,000 songs about, Him ^:)^ that just wouldn't be enough!  Its expression for our love for God ^:)^, in our language.  Now don't get me wrong the church is concerned about you living a wonderful life, but whats most important to us is that you know who "The King ^:)^" is.  I know who my King ^:)^ is, the question is do you?

Smart Remark:  True some older christians don't like rap cause its not their language, but some rappers don't like rappers. :P

Yes, I believe in God...but you don't have to be a Christian, or believe in the Bible to believe in a higher being. There are a great many religions, and Christianity is but one. There are too many religions that outdate Christianity, but that's another topic alltogether.  :P Also, Hip Hop CAN be fun, and that's ok...but where do you draw the line and look at the ways of the world and say, 'you know what, I don't think two-stepping, and 'cranking dat' is going to help stop the violence in my hood.' People are dying senselessly, children are steadily being exposed to more and more negativity, and it's not showing any signs of slowing. It's OK to have fun, but I think that's the problem with most artists, we aren't TRYING to teach anything, not that it's all up to music artists to teach the masses, but the thing is, THEY CAN HELP ELEVATE people. I don't know about you, but I feel that music is a powerful tool, that is not being used to uplift the people like it can be. It's what I'm good at, what I've worked with my WHOLE life, so yea, I take my music a bit seriously at times as an artist...but I don't expect everyone to be like me. I have fun, but at the same time, I want to help elevate my people, by trying to educate them through my music. I think you're wrong in saying that 'Christian' rap is just for fun, I'm sure there are plenty of artists that will tell you that they are trying to spread the word of Christ to save them from eternal damnation through they're music...which is no joke. I just don't feel like that makes you a great artist alone, the creativity and originality is still not there. Most artists make music with the intent of connecting with a particular audience, and I don't think they're just talking to be talking...it's not as easy as you may think. Being a Hip Hop artist, and making great music is not an easy thing to do...and I think it shows in the 'Christian' rap genre as well as mainstream Hip Hop.

Also, I just don't like looking like an idiot...(YULE!!!)

(Yule!!!) agreed.  Notice he didn't he didn't win at the music awards :D

Anways, I don't think we are to far from the same thoughts, expect the many religions thing of course.  True you can can spread a message with rap, I'm just saying its not the primary purpose.  Alot of them spread subblim messages even if their not trying.  Don't get me wrong either of course they are trying spread the message of christ.  I'm just saying as christians our job is to point people to the Teacher or Elevator and spread His wisdom when we can.  Would I prefer some songs to have more meat in their message yes; but if not as long as it points them to the Father I aint mad at em. =D>

(Yule!!!) agreed.  Notice he didn't he didn't win at the music awards :D

I HATE the Soulja Boy! I'm glad he didn't! He's a  L-)

Me either...as long as it's ill.

I don't have it, but I've heard it...I think they're pretty good. I would buy it if I ever remembered it.
