Never thought we would hear from Elecbyte again, it's about time they came back to the world and produced a new version of Mugen. This is pretty big news, I made sure to announce this at my forum too to get the word out. Looks like I may have to give this new version a try to see how it feels.

Well, I gave the new version a whirl and I like it. It doesn't give me as much issues as all the past ones did, seems to work very well without nasty hiccups. Though it did crash on certain stages and characters, so it does have compatibility issues with some past stuff. Looks like it's a matter of trial and error to see what works and what doesn't. But I'm sure they will iron out stuff as they go along. All in all, it's the best and most stable version I have seen and used and that's a good thing. I also love how this one is HD ready from the get go

I also hope they eventually add Tag Team support and I'm sure they will, but we should let them know that's what we want...let our voices be heard so Mugen can continue to evolve and get better.

I'm still skeptical, but if it's all true then that skeptism will fade in time. The thing is, the "new release" of mugen is nothing that hacks haven't already been involved in.

On top of that, with Random Select shutting it's doors and the poster on th Elecbyte site signing his name KFM, I still see a possible fraud with the intent of starting a new Random Select, only called Elecbyte. Not to mention, the "Elecbyte team" all have especially vague names like "S" and "minion". I'll keep my healthy dose of skeptism until something else develops.

It's real.  There are plenty of changes that couldn't be done by mere hacking - look at the new file formats for example, as well as the new features (e.g. new triggers such as 'ailevel').  These changes could only have been made by someone with access to the source code, so it's either the best mugen clone ever, or it actually is a new mugen.  As for the 'KFM' thing... I rather like the fact that the name has been definitively reclaimed

I'm very surprised, While at the same time, Somewhat skeptical on this.
I'll test out this so-called "Mugen 1.0" once I'm done School, It says this version has backwards compatibility with characters from previous versions, But I'm not keeping my hopes up too high.

  im not buyin it. I'll stick with my current mugen and watch this one carefully like a new xbox that everyone buys on the first string. I'll wait for all the C&C as well as the bugs to be listed.
