Dude, you are so off about Hip-Hop man... Don't you realize that's why lots of people hate Soulja-Boy? Not only does he talk about that stupid sh*t, but he's bad at doing it!! And believe me, all Hip-Hop is NOT the same my friend... Perhaps you should do some exploring deeper into what real Hip-Hop is. Because if you're getting your info from the radio, then you've got a terrible source of information! You need to listen to Lupe Fiasco's song called (Dumb it down) It specifically talks about how the industry tries to keep B/S on the radio because superficiality sells. Real Hip-Hop talks about things that matter. Not lolly pop's, jewels, Cars, pimpin, and the dope game. And even though I'm not really into Gangsta rap, I respect it because I grew up in the hood, and I know first hand what it's like to be broke as f**k and to feel like you gotta do whatever just to keep your lights on for one more month. Or the rent paid. Or... Some broke a$$ dude holding you up at gun point because he's doing what he's gotta do to keep HIS rent and bills paid! The ghetto ain't no joke my friend... Those guys are just rappin about what they know, and go through on a regular. And getting a job ain't so easy in places like that. Fortunately, I was able to make it out because I was determined to get the hell out of there! But I had lots of help man. I didn't do it all on my own. I stayed in books, went to college and all that sh*t. Now I gotta fam, 3 kids, the house, the dog, all that. But to this day!! As soon as I mention that I'm originally from south central L.A., People look at me a whole lot different like I'm a threat or somethin. I'm just trying to live and enjoy life man...! Seriously though... Stop basing your opinions of Hip-Hop on that TRASH you hear on the radio. Cause in that case, I can see why you hate it. I could say I hate Rock and Metal! The first band I actually listened to and liked, was Motley crew's (Dr. Feelgood) After that, throughout the years, my taste in Rock grew to more of a variety. The 90's were the SHIZNIT!! HOLE, Sublime, Bush, Sound garden, Chillie peppers, Smashing pumpkins, Silver chair, Offspring, No doubt, System of a down, Corn, The dam Romeo & Juliet sound track, ... and a whole lot of other sh*t!! Was off the hook back then! But it ain't like that anymore. At least not on the radio that is. My point is this... I don't really care for much of today's Rock and Metal, but I'm sure if I dug deeper, I'd find the real deal. And that's what you need to do man. Dig in and find something with a message. Something worth listening to! F**k all that lean and rock B/S, and pretty much all of Soulja Boy's stuff. Find some real MC's. And just to let you know... ANYBODY CANNOT DO THIS!! It takes years of practice and SKILL to be a real contender in Hip-Hop. I'm aware of the fact that it takes talent to play any kind of instrument! But it also takes talent to work with software programs like Reason, FL8, and Pro tools. Keyboards and drum machines are instruments as well. Trust me, just because you can make a simple beat, don't hardly mean you have talent. You need to be HOTT!! Anyone could learn to make a simple sequence, but it all comes down to... Either ya got it, or ya don't... Same as playing a guitar homie...! You either have it, or you don't! So before you completely bash Hip-Hop without knowing all about it, PLEASE! Take some time, OPEN YOUR MIND first off, and find something that you can actually benefit from rather than just dance to or whatever. I'm willing to bet that your mind will change. Even if you still don't feel Hip-Hop, you'll walk away with a new found respect for whats real... Hope this leads you to a step into the right direction. Keep your mind open man... Holla...!

It does take skill & a lot of practice .  But to a point I think anyone with the desire to play , & practice time put in can learn to play a guitar . For example anyone can look on the net & learn that Metallica song they like . Where the real skill comes in is composing original music on it .

i was a very very big 2Pac fan... i'm old... i grew up in the 80's and 90's.... i got to see 2pac live in concert... and even got to see the rise and fall of No Limit... and when Cash Money first showed up... and LIL Wayne before all the damn Tattoo's...

so i know more than you know about HipHop...i used to love it.... then it became pure crap.... HipHop Died when Tupac did......

and any one that knew what HipHop was during the time 2Pac was alive... knows what i mean... after his death... all this hiphop we know today was born... and it started with No Limit...

Five Finger Death Punch is the metal band I love, and as for hip-hop, I love...well...me .

of ppl got mad at Ice-T when he came at Soulja boy the way he did, though I dont agree with how he did it, I do understand why he did it. Ice-T was trying to come at Soulja Boy as a father would his son. He was trying to get him to understand that you have to make music that ppl are gonna remember many years from now and honor it as a classic and not some birthday party music that nobody is gonna care about 3 months from now. Because of all of the music he made in the past, for some reason I don't think he wrote the lyrics completely but I do feel as if its only so much B/S you can write until some real sh*t comes out of you. Ppl might not get this but a heard this in a poem "HipHop has always been about the rusty fork trying to eat like the silver spoon* making something out of nothing, from rags to riches but delivering a message in your music that can help other ppl out of that same situation. 2pac gave a message in 98% of his music altogether. That's why even his music is still playing in the hoods around the world cuz ppl can relate to those situations. That's what it means to give back, it doesn't always have to be with money. If you cant give the world something financially, then give em something that lets them know you give a damn. That's how you get your respect in the music industry and that applies to all genres.

Like I said, its only so much B/S you can write until you get to the real sh*t And Soulja just now starting to tap that potential but Im not totally convinced dude is through with that birthday music grind. I will say that he is getting older and smarter as far as lyrics go but lets see if he can keep it up but so far so good. His successful re-make just might be remembered as one of his best songs of 09' (mixtape or album). Aint no hope for his boys tho, ARAB and J-bar is still on that weak trash.
