what is the higest resolution can mugen run in?

My PC can do 1440x900 and my TV can do 720p (1280x720)

what is the max resolution I can set mugen to with both devices without crashing mugen? I know it sounds like a stupid question but I'm not sure if mugen can support those resolutions

What kind of TV do you have? I have a HD TV.

I put my mugen to 640x480 and give it the ability to stretch the picture to fill it up.

My mugen is set to that by default, and it does that, but I want to get the optimal resolution for it so it can hopefully look more refined.
