Anyone into Trading Card Games?

The reason why no one mentions vs , because the game blows .

There is no strategy , it's already predetermined decks built . For yu gi oh , say your favorite card is " Blue Eyes White Dragon " You can throw that card in any deck  you build . Say my favorite card is batman for VS . I can't just throw batman in a fantastic four deck just because I like the card . he would be a worthless draw .

I played that stupid game because Upper Deck was trying to push it . They had big tournaments & actually gave away cash . The d*mn game was so boring it put me to sleep . I had a Bad@$$ fantastic four deck that was almost unbeatable . But it was the same crap over & over . Turn one out comes Invisible woman , turn 3 was human torch , Turn 5 the Thing . Something like that , I don't remember  there numbers . BOOOOOOOOOORING .

Then I tried to play again when the Batman stuff all came out , same sh*t , different characters . BOOOOOORING    

No one wanted to play a game that the staple deck is already built for you from the company . Your oart is to aquire the cards for it . In Yu Gi Oh Jinzo can come out on turn one possibly or turn 5 . There is no randomness of VS like that . Silver Surfer comes out on turn 7 , that's it .

It was cool because it was a game around my favorite comic heroes . Too bad the game wasn't better .

That's why the discontinued the game , because it just plain sucked .

First off, you can't just randomly throw your favorite Yugioh card into any deck and expect it to do something. You love Exodia, throw him in to any deck, oops, didn't work. It's the same way with VS, you can throw whoever into whatever deck, doesn't mean it will work, but that's just how the game is. It's about a long strategic battle for the most part. I get that in Yugioh tides could turn from the beginning, and the game was fast paced for the most part. Use to love my Goblin Fiend deck for that reason alone. Doesn't mean that because VS isn't like that that it blows.

Besides that, not sure what kinda F4 deck you were running, but they were never top tier. They could be pretty competitive at times, but not ever at the top. I kept up with it a lot since the beginning, so I would know that. You do keep mentioning only the old school stuff though, so maybe that was the problem. The first few sets were just paving the way for the rest to come.

The main reason they discontinued it though, was because they couldn't re-new the licensing for DC's stuff. That does suck because there was a huge following for the game but DC has screwed up worse in the past, sad to say.

I'm telling you, I talked with upper deck reps & judges. They discontinued it because there wasn't enough of a following for the game.

You are wrong about the yu gi oh thing. OK sure You can't just throw the head of Exodia in a deck & expect it to do something. but for the most part,  there are so many Yu Gi Oh creatures that can be just tossed in a any deck .

Jinzo, DD Warrior lady , Breaker , Gemini Elf ...... the list goes on .

You could just toss them in any deck & they work fine .

VS , try to run a deck with Batman, Wolverine, Spiderman,  The Thing, &  Lex Luthor . Yeah that's not going to happen .

A game is terrible when the staple deck is already 100% built for you by the company. You just have to spend the money to get all the cards. 

Fantastic Four was good in the beginning when I was playing competitively .  Then I realized how bad the game sucked & how bored I was playing that i stopped driving over an hour away to go to the sanctioned tournaments .

I played later at the local card shop with all the newer stuff. But the game still sucked & it was boring . No strategy, Superman comes out on turn 7 , or whatever he was. The game is crap.

Believe me I feel your pain. I so wanted the game with all my beloved comic heroes to be a great game . Unfortunately it was failure of epic proportion.

The GI Joe card game was a better playable game than vs . That wasn't that great .

In all reality you want strategy, go play Magic . that's the most strategic game out of all of them.

Although I heard the got rid of " damage on the stack " now . That will take away from a lot of the strategy of the game . i remember times when 10 things would take place, back & forth on the stack.
