Off topic: Pac is generally considered the best ever because he's the only rapper to find that balance of subject matter that allowed most people to relate to him in one way or another. Most artist these days have niche crowds.

I know I didn't mention any non-mainstream rappers but there are good reasons why artists don't sell.

I would change the order but I am so glad to see that you have jadakiss in your top ten...he is one of the most slept artist out at the moment the animal 50 cent diss was just amazing and his word play is always on point no matter the song or beat.....if hip-hop/rap was still a lyricist's game he would be one of the top seller out

Big and Nas over Hov? Not in this lifetime, big is arguable though. The reason I place him behind Jigga is he didn't get enough albums to fully develop, he had potential to become greater than jay-z though.

Yeah, he's held his own with the likes of Pac and Jay-z. I'm a texas boy, so for me he's a local artist. His career suffered from being on a label that didn't promote well.

Nas needed help to sell records but he is still a far better MC that Jay could ever become with all of Biggie's rhymes in his possesion. Popularity doesnt equal skill. Many forget that when it comes to music. Besides Jay aint sellin any records at def jam anyway. All his underlings (Young Gunz and whoever else) flopped.
