Ok, I have to say... considering all the terrible movies of 2009, G.I.Joe The Rise Of Cobra wasn't that bad (7/10 at least in my opinion).

The Good Points:

1. Loved The Snake Eyes / Storm Shadow Scenes, there story & the actors playing them did pretty well.
2. Loved the Baroness (Sienna Miller) & Scarlett (Rachel Nichols)
3. The movie itself had a fun feel to it (at least i felt that way).

The Bad Points:

1. Scarlett Kissing "The Movie Version Of Ripcord (Marlon Wayans)" COME ON!!! Wasn't Scarlett Snake Eyes girl?
2. Destro & Cobra Commander's look (with the CGI of today, thats the best you can do)?
3. Zartan... I mean DAMN, you couldn't throw some hair or a hood on the guy from the Mummy?
4. Hawk (Now i actually like Dennis Quaid as Hawk) but for some reason, i kept thinking he was Flint.

Am i crazy or what? Let me know what you guys think about this....

I like this movie. I really like this movie.

I initially liked Transformers, but after looking back on it, it was a massive travesty in general.

G. I. Joe was straight up awesome. It didn't try to be anything that it wasn't, and action movie simple enough for a 9 year old to keep up with, yet something that us 25+ people that grew up with it can respect and get into.

I highly look forward to sequels!

Who knows, they might even do a GI Joe/Transformers crossover movie.....just like they did in Marvel comics back in the 80's

First off I enjoyed the movie. I went in expecting nothing, came out pleasantly surprised.

I see where you're coming from,The kissing was passable, it doesnt matter who likes who. It gives females some
drama to watch. // Destro, CC, and Zartan, oh well they played their characters well i don't mind. Although
Cobra Commander's mask does look like a female's diaphram. And hawk, well they needed some young blood to
start off the series. I mean at some point hawk was young, and was below someone in rank. We'll see what happens
next episode aka movie.

This topic should probably have a spoiler tag on it.

I thought cobra commander was okay, but the Darth Vader voice was a bit too much. He shoulda just talked like he did before putting the mask on. It sounded perfect. I also felt that they could have just had Destro wear a mask instead of having nano machines injected into him to turn his face into metal. Furthermore, I feel that the whole thing with having baroness being mind controlled was kinda lame. It would have been a lot cooler if she was a villain the entire time, thinking that her brother was dead, and didn't even know that she was working for him the whole time. I really enjoyed that little twist with Cobra Commander though. I thought he was Dr. Mindbender until he revealed himself.

There wasn't a single character that I didn't like in some way, but I wish we could have gotten to see Heavy Duty more with his big butt machine gun. He's one of my favorite Joes.

Heavy duty is my favorite. He was my first gi joe toy.

my first joe figure was that drug dealer guy that the joes and cobra teamed up to fight in that hour long special about how drugs are bad. odd choice, I know, but he came with a gun that SHOT DRUGS.

They did have a helmet, but it just looked so retarded. I didn't mind Baroness story.

Honestly I liked the movie, my 3 problems with it was Snake Eyes mouth on his mask (I mean why... we know he's mute), Cobra's ridiculous helmet (again why couldn't they just revert to an older design), and Storm Shadows death (of course... the coolest villain gets killed... WTF)

They have to kill the bad guy everyone wants to see otherwise everyone will just demand he be in the sequel. I liked the movie but i kinda thought it was cheesy. they coulda knocked about 30 minutes worth of cheese out and put in more beatings...woulda made the movie so much better

Yeah but one could make an argument to watch Gigli using that analogy.

The Headman was that drug dealers name . My first Joe was Snake eyes . The figures didn't even have kung fu swivel grip . The first release of the toys , that was not implemented yet .

Anyway , yeah they totally screwed up a child hood memory for me . What sucks is all the toys from the 80's were being resculpted & rereleased . Hasbro canceled that & are now only making the movie toys . So kids now a days have to suffer with this crap .

Baroness story blew , How the hell could they screw up Cobra Commander so bad ? , Destro's mask is an ancient family tradition , not nano technology , OMG I was ready to kill someone the way they screwed up Zartan .

All this ruined it for me .

Snake Eyes costume looked great .

J-Lo and Ben Affleck in the same movie is no masterpiece...

And for the true fans,they did screw up stuff,but as i said it was nowhere the level of screwing up stuff as DB Evolution was

good sir, their characters masterfully played off of each other in ways that only the two of them could. the they had perfect synergy. I couldn't imagine anyone else in these roles. Amazing chemistry.

I saw this movie a few nights ago. It was bad... but at least it wasn't as bad as the Transformers movies. See, this movie doesn't suffer from horrible, unfunny "humor." Instead, this movie suffers from a bland, cliched, screenplay. The story was just dumb but the dialog was where the movie really sank. I hated the Baroness character. She could've been more like an authoritarian, dominatrix-type character and instead she was some average, materialistic dumb blonde POSING as a cool while being bogged down by this ridiculous relationship she has with Duke. Duke is supposed to be part of a love triangle with Scarlet and Snake Eyes.

Problems aside, this movie did have its charms. I liked the wide assortment of vehicles and gear for the GI Joes to use (except the ridiculous suits that were only brought into the movie for a stupid CHASE SCENE). I also liked how the different big name villains were used. But I thought Cobra Commander's design was weird.

Cobra Commander starts off looking like some deformed Dr. Mindbender, who actually IS in the movie but apparently had his look stolen and is instead some generic, creepy-lookin' guy. Then, at the END of the movie, Commander puts on a ridiculous mask, reminiscent of the horrible outfit they gave the Green Goblin in the first Spider-Man movie. Who designs these things? Destro's masked appearance was nice but Cobra Commander's just sorta made me laugh.

Oh, and was that Brendan Fraser in the movie? What a small role... they could've given that to Sgt. Slaughter or something.

This movie was awesome.
Now, its not a masterpiece, But i would give it a (7/10)
I didn't like how Cobra Commander looked at the end. Soo retarded...
But overall it was action-packed and i would recommend it to anyone.

I just found out why this movie was bad: The guy who wrote the script never watched the old GI JOE show nor read the comics. Makes sense now.

It was an ok movie. I was really dissapointed though when Duke picked up an AA-12, and it fired like an assault rifle though.
