I doubt it... Ever since my laptop charger broke, I have been stuck using the PC. My Uncle did some work on it and I think this a fake copy of windows.

Maybe it's time to upgrade to Windows 7, I think you can get legit beta versions still.

Can it be torrented or do I have to pay?

Get the RTM that is what I am on. Its really easy to find... But im not gonna discuss that in this topic. But need some help PM me. I would advise using MU or RS for this tho. Torrents will get you busted really quick especially with MS. But you need any help PM me so I don't break any rules.

EDIT : RTM = Release to Manufacturers

So it in a sense the gold copy that retailers will get on October. Or you can go the total legit route for the beta (if they still have the key) but 2010 rollls around and it will expire and deactivate.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/

Just click" download the release candidate" on the right. That's my suggestion.

ewww release candidate. Is it as stable as RTM or do you know? Well im guessing RTM has to be the most stable because its basically the Gold master disk sent to all the manufacturers.

and Windows isn't cheap... there are ways around to use pirate versions, just like everything in the world, unfortunately I don't have any information on that for you.  :-??

NP m8 do me a favor... Give me the exact error message for the installer. Because if Windows 7 RC did not work then RTM is not gonna work either unless you do a complete reformat. Your windows installer sounds borked. So i need the error message to help you out.

BTW ive been using and diagnosing computers since I was about 6 years old.
So it kinda comes natural to me now.
