about cheap chars

i want to know your opinion about the uber-powerful chars in personal i have 3

supermario 64
apelao

i only have 3 because they are hard to beat so i wanna know opinions

Cheap chars are hard to beat usually with mugen's dumb AI, but against a human player they're truly impossible as they can kill you in short order.

Not to mention it really doesn't take as much effort to make something cheap as it does to make it good and balanced.

I only keep cheap chars because it's more of a challenge then most... some are, like KFM said, impossible to beat... some can be beaten (I keep thinking of Rambo, and how he spams attacks after the 1st 5 seconds of a match.) Where there's a will, there's a way, I even beat the Pacifier a few months ago but I don't play as much nowadays

I don't hate all cheap characters, but I try not to keep too many. The only "cheap" character I use on a normal basis is Akaitsuki, but even I can't counter or backhop-spam like the AI could.

Funny story: Play as that MMX8 styled X against Akaitsuki, and just keep firing shots at her or do that kick combo. I've done it before and, while she spams the backhop, It's near impossible to hit her.

While some chars are pointless to face due to their insane difficulty, I still like to pit 2 crazy AIs against each other in watch mode.  They make for infinitely better shows than 2 stupid or even moderate AIs.

actually just because a character can be beaten doesn't mean its not cheap, for example i have lots of trouble with some of Pots' characters but i dont consider them cheap, to me it's just a harder pattern to follow than others. but being unbeatable because of of one hit kills, never ending juggle, quick to no recovery time, invincible frames, etc is what i consider cheap.

My main boss has been toned down because if he is used in "boss" mode hes unbeatable. So the game has to be somewhat balanced or theres no point playing. Keeping cheap chars just for the novelty is fine though.

I keep some cheap chars around if they make for a good show in watch mode (i.e. Pacifier, Zero_Col, Dark Athena, OTW), some because I enjoy the challenge involved in beating them (Psycho Shredder, Sephiroth, Hitler, among others), and few just in case I want to go on a rampage after one of my survival runs gets cut short by one of these monsters (Shadow Lord is usually my default for this, along with a couple of others).

If a character ends up being dull to watch, nearly or totally unbeatable, and no fun to play with then it ends up off my select screen (a good example of this would be Death Machine MB-59).

Although Dragon Ken is cheap, his ai doesn't take advantage of the abilities.
