Super MvC:EOH Jin Saotome has been updated..



Changes...

-More Sprites
-Better Animations
-More Coding
-Better Alignment
-Get hit sounds fixed

You will definitely notice changes... but basically... I was trying to make him not like his MvC version too much.. I mean.. I've played the game before and I've seen a few youtube vids before and after starting him... I'm definitely going to put more things in from the original MvC2 version of him.. so.. if there's any specifics you would like to see, then just either post them here or PM me.

Quick feedback/opinions:

-missing required sprites check debug mode for information on this
-i really think that robot arm isnt done right and also if you go the full length of the screen to do it in the corner the arm looks cut off, for an attack like this it really needs to show a bit more impact some velocities that push the character back a bit more or maybe an env shake.
-why did you get rid of the robot fist as a super move thats one of his best attacks?
-also there arent much sound effects for this attack
-you need to sort out that invalid state 7500 problem that happens with characters that are built off the EOH template
-that super move (requires D,F and 2 kicks) doesnt work too well
the super pause (which has illegal pausetimes, check debug) for it is wrong as the super bg is already happening before jin attacks also the hits dont connect very well they miss even when the opponent is very close, try this against kfm and youll see what i mean.
-the move needs more sounds for when he is swinging to hit the opponent
-the super bg lasts too long
-the way the hits connect also dont feel too good the opponent can easy walk away from the attack as the opponent quickly recovers from each hit.
-the attack isnt really very good as a whole as you cant really use it to combo into, or as a counter attack as the superpause isnt working properly
-your standing clsns need work they switch from top to bottom as the animation goes through its frames
-the robot machine gun supermove really needs to be redone no sound fx? also he doesnt even start/finish the move right and the hits dont connect well either
-some attacks use the the default screenpack sparks some use cvs sparks
-where are the winposes?
-when he gets hit i hear guiles sounds

IMO it feels too much like a beta, character needs alot more work

If you have MVC/2 check out how jin actually fights to help you out even some youtube clips could be of assistance.

its a start anyway, just keep going until you finish it .

lol.. guess I missed a few...

I figured that the machine gun punch should be a special move instead of a super... I thought it would be more convenient...
Still working on sound effects for both the specials and the hypers...

The standing clsn? uh.. those are just fine... lol...

All sounds are Jin.. none are Guile or any other character...

He was actually going to be a beta.. but I figured i'd just finish him up and release him.. I guess I did it too quickly... lol.. Um... keep me posted everyone.. I should have almost everything fixed for the next update..

actually it currently isnt fine :P

anyway after checking it again, its a quick fix you only need to add an additional box in the first frame as that seems to be missing when i open up fighter factory and also when i viewed it in mugen.


All sounds are Jin.. none are Guile or any other character...


Wrong, i hear MVC2 Guile every time he gets hit and when he is KOed i suggest you check your character before releasing it.

I usually do, but I thought it was unnecessary this time around.. guess I was wrong... I may release an update in a week or less to fix quite a few things...

He really needs some color seperation so you can have some intresting looking palettes/outfits cuz right now, the sold blue and green ones dont look so good IMO.

The knee and elbo pads need to be one color, the scarf another and it would be great if the pants were seperated from the top and the energy from his hard hits seperate from the white in his outfit.

That way you could make him look like lots off differnt things.

-he has no trip
-standing mk makes him leap off the ground
-air hk can be spam in air as all of his attacks can also but if i put you u in the corner i can jump hk and you block theni can do it immediately right after if you continue to block which u cant react then jump again and press hk as quick as possible and repeat the process until you attack. bascially he has a pressure string with hk(in air) in the corner. might i add its inasnely hard to do but can be done. also it can only done after performing one super jump which is weird. honestly it might prove useful.
-in air mk doesnt combo like in mvc2
-close hk is the same kick as far high and both make jin leap off the ground a bit
- his close is the same as his air mk and doesnt combo
-lk, close hk, and far mk are the same exact move and all make jin lea off the ground sort of
- i like his tornado and i think you should keep it but make it so is useful cuz hes gonna eat beam supers like crazy. you should make him able to block after the tornado so that he wont be wide open after doing it. and also think about having lk, mk, and hk go certain distances back
-crouching mk doesnt combo the second hit
-super bg last long
- multi hit super doesnt get all hits
-lp infinite
-qcf+p aka the blodia fist move comes out but the sprites where the arm retract are missing.
-multi-hit hyper is cancellable with blodia fist (not a bad idea honestly) but when you canel out to do the blodia fist the hyper bg last insanely longer
-close mp can be comboed up to three times
-machine gun hyper doesnt knock opponent down
-no grab
-crouching lp to crouching mp doesnt combo
-blodia punch is infinite from 0 to death up close or at sweep distance
- no sounds for machine gun super and animations for it are kind of choppy

thats all i post for now

In the EOH template the characters are coded with the close medium punch and close fierce punch. Personally, I think you should remove that for Jin because they were always the same to begin with. And I know you said you were trying to stray away from the MvC accuracy but his Standing MP launcher should have been kept instead of crouching Fierce, that move was always more of a "gtfo me" type of technique. You also left out one of his basic combos from MvC: Standing Fierce punch (Should send opponent flying to other side of screen btw) and chain into Blodia Punch. Just my thoughts, he needs a bit of work. Also, seperate his flame effects from the sprites, those should be Explods or else the sprites don't really look like they flow correctly and his basics are too quick.
