Mediafire?

Is anyone else having a problem with downloading from Mediafire? I keep getting 25~ kb archives instead of actual characters.

I'm getting it when I try to download the latest Sentinel by Xslaught and the characters by Jedah12.

Could be my G1 not communicating correctly, tho. It tells the forum that I'm using linux and some random browser so it may be Android being crazy.

It's my phone. I just got the downloads to work here, at work, so i's the browser on my G1.

i'm having issues uploading. it acts like it uploaded just fine, but when i go to my files, it says i've not uploaded anything.

The Android phone OS has a linux kernel(think it as the middle man between hardware and software) and the nifty little gadget on this forum looks for that kernel to find what OS it uses it.

Mediafire doesn't work on my computer cuz it says the site is dangerous and can potentially give a virus

If you are using Firefox just disable it in the settings download the file then re-enable it. Thats what I do for some sites I go onto that I know are relatively safe. Just make sure as soon as the file is downloaded you re-enable it.

I've never had a problem with FF blocking Media Fire. My step-dad lets my mom use IE and there's some firewall that he installed that blocks RS, MU, and YSI. I always used FF to circumvent a lot of stupid stuff that he did on that computer.

Yea I have not had media fire disabled with FF 3(latest version of 3). But I was just telling him how to disable that warning. But it should not give him that unless his firewall also has something to do with it.

Yea its my firewall. And I dun kno how to turn off the download page. I can get on the site but just not download now.

Well, you could always turn off the firewall when you go to download something from there. Just turn it back on when you're done.

I was having similar problems with Mediafire a few months back (both the download issues and the upload problem like worksa8), as well as a bunch of other sites. It actually turned out to be a problem with my Java. After updating that and Firefox, everything was back to normal. Might be worth looking at for some of you guys.

i've rarely had problems with Mediafire. when i did have a problem, i just waited a little, re-entered and no more problems
