I wish Capcom would make a "Smash Bros." style game.....

I was watching ScrewAttacks top ten games that need to be made earlier today, and they had Powerstone 3 on the list, saying that SSBB needed some competition. This got me thinking. If capcom was able to do so good with the Powerstone series, wouldn't it be awesome if they went back to making games like this, but with other Capcom characters? Just imagine how cool the roster would be:

Megaman
Roll
(insert Megaman enemy here)
Viewtiful Joe
(insert Viewtiful joe enemy here *cough* HULK DAVIDSON *cough*)
Dante
Virgil
Ryu
Chun Li
M. Bison
Arthur
Firebrand
The guy from Onimusha
Chris Redfield
Maximo
Captain Commando
Strider Hiryu
etc.

They have so much to pick from ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Capcom_games )! I think a game like this could most certainly compete with Smash Bros. and their dominance in the party fighter genre. What do you guys think?

i wouldnt want that to happen. i hope they never consider it. smash style is only good  for the few characters that are in it. ryu in smash style.....that would not sell trust me. mvc ppl in smash style??? thats like having shin akuma orochi to the 3rd power in a game

I'd be willing to see this Done Right, Capcom tried making something similar to what Whoblehwah talking about, It was Capcom Fighting Evolution/Jam, And wasn't that well Presented.

Maybe if they put some effort into it, And more familiar Characters, It Could possibly Work.

That game wasnt even close, it was just chars thrown together because they canceled that other game

The original game was also 3-D graphics on a 2-D Pane, Similar to SF4 and TVC.
