Huge dante update:

dante's sprites now have his sword.
it made alot of difference seeing it
on him. this is step one. next i will
add the guns.


next dantes coding is being 100%
overhauld. i ma using the MVC: eoh
character template because i want
him on the capcom side of the MVC:
EOH game.

dont wory dante will not lose anything
he is just being rearranged a bit. i will
keep some of the ggxx stuff but going
more to the mvc style. so like 50/50.

this will be great for the fans of dmc
and the fans of the infinity-team with
MVC:EOH crew. the planned date for
dante's release will be before winter
(maybe sooner).

i am excited now that i have made progress
with dante. Gouken will have a final patch
and my efforts are all on my bread and butter
dante.

Are you sure they will take him into it?
I mean his sprites don't even look remotely MvC for one thing.
What kinda sucks is that your so far into the spriting, you can't go back anymore. Even though as much as I want to see this character released, he needs a MASSIVE sprite overhaul. The way he swings the sword looks like he is only using his fingers, the sword looks like torn paper, his pants are green for some strange reason - etc...

wow like what I see so far alex! I think the air attack might need fixing, that sword attack looks better, but IMO slightly off, or maybe it`s the video:/ not sure

Sword effects are cool, and I like the DMC3 sounds. Guess a few months ago I would have thought this was the best mugen creation ever but i won't lie, after that Hi-Res Vergil...

Actually in DMC3 Dante`s pants are Dark Green, not black, I think Alex should darken his pallete a little more on the legs, this update looks loads better I think, also about that Hi Res Vergil... it felt like playing DMC3 SE all over again, DEAD accurate moves and animations, and I hear he`s makin a Dante too

And your best has been good so far, keep it up, the reason why that Vergil is being referred to is because first off, you were the very first to try to make a Dante for MUGEN, MUGEN + came out and a very talented spriter came and made one of, if not THE most accurate MUGEN reference character from his/her game, the attacks and hypers he has are all ripped from the game and carefully animated, unfortunately, your going to have to tolerate talk of that Vergil since he already exists and people love to compare, It`ll be even worse whenever his Dante is released, so you`ll have to simply ignore and keep going, best of luck Alex  :)

Yes, like I said Alexlexus, I wasn't trying to deter you from your Dante, but the fact is that high quality Vergil is out there. Your coding is great though, so I know you can make a quality character, I just think the sprites, and visual effects are the problem right now.

I just like how much Dante improves after every update.

1st - Good concept. Lacking great sprites

Most recent (3rd?) - Wow, looking much better than before (weird grab sprites though.. lol..)

Now this... omg.. you've come so far...

Although, I do see a really big negative in your last update...

for most of your moves...

this:

should most definitely be changed to this:

cool. I recommended those numbers because I think they're important for more combos, and the -2 makes it so he won't go as far back as he does.. I realized this while playing your latest update released back a few months ago.

Even though it might be a pain
it could be possible to release different versions based on different gameplay (CVS/KOF/MVC/GG etc.)

And of course if you have permission people would make patches anyways  :-??

No, I hope that he will have six. I think that Dante may have combinated all of his styles (swordmaster, gunslinger, trickster, etc) in six buttons and many combination buttons. So, alexslus, If you respect this, I will give you some sugerences with the hyper moves. One incredible hyper move may be a wave attack with his guitar (the guitar that you obtain when you kill tha succubus in DMC3). Another hyper move that may be good, It's a ""berserk"" attack with the swords ""Agni & Ruda"" (fire and ice blades) or Beowulf, something like the ""berserk X"" hyper move of wolverine. And the other hyper move that may be good it's his demon move (that actually, is in your beta), but I suggest to fix the sprites of the demon, because I'm still seeing Jedah LOLOLOL!! XD. The special moves may be the combos that you do with the main guns and the main sword of dante, like his ""berserker"" thrust that he do, or a Matrix slowmotion-move with his guns (I'm trying to give original ideas). Other special move may be use the Artemis gun, shoting a purple proyectile.

There you have 3 hypers and 3 specials suggestions, I hope you agree :w00t: :)

PD: Seriously... I see Jedah in his demon barrage, fix the demon sprites please XD
