And btw,Street Fighter doesn't really have that much of a storyline like KOF(94/5-96/7-99/01)
They actually have some continuity.
The only stories are maybe:Charlie,Bison and Rose,the shotos and that's it.
The rest of them is pretty meh to me...Heck SF had too little amount of boss characters:Bison,Akuma,Gill and Seth.
Kof has many of them,and in the latest game two different final bosses depending on how well you do.

So storyline wise,KOF>>SF(imo)

That's because Capcom takes a lot of time to think about new content for fighting games. They basically make it up as they go along. But still, I forgive them.

By the way, they put Ingrid (of Capcom Fighting Evolution) in the PSP version of Street Fighter Alpha 3.

As for bosses, the ironic thing is that Balrog, Vega and Sagat USED to be bosses. Their playable status ending up making this irrelevant...

SNK thinks a lot faster. It's no wonder that King of Fighters has a more detailed story.

That said, I'll be cautiously anticipating this RPG.

SNK has lost it, first a KoF shoot'em up and now a RPG? Sounds to me like they are trying to milk the KoF name like Capcom does with SF. RPG's are not something SNK knows well, I don't think fighting games work well for RPG's. It's stuff like this that can kill a franchise and give it a bad name. We will have to wait and see if it can actually work, but it already doesn't look too good...the graphics are quite ugly if you ask me. I'm a picky sort and never impress easily so I'm on the fence with this one.

Exactly, they started taking the franchise into risky territory and there can be heavy consequences for that. SNK is taking a huge risk with this and I fear they are making a bad decision. Sometimes it's best to stick to what you know and not insult your fans.

Im a huge kof fan and this is not a really big risk i mean wats the worse that can happen? I mean im pretty sure rpg fans will check this out as well as kof fans and at the end of the day even if this game dont sell well kof will still be a good fighter so they have nothing to lose with this...

Oh wait, I reserved "The King of Fighters XII" for the Xbox 360 at my local Gamestop.

Reserved a copy for the Xbox 360 at my local Gamestop on Saturday. To be honest, this is going to be the first KOF game I've ever played although I have played Capcom vs. SNK: Millennium Fight 2000 on a cruise ship. 

KOF > Street Fighter u should get into it.. and Capcom vs snk didnt represent the snk characters like they should have been capcom was jelous so they took away a lot of the moves from the snk characters so they could have a little bit of moves like da street fighter characters.

Then again they managed to make a decent RPG out of Megaman X. I'll give this game a try anyway.

yea it is and just because  a company makes mostly fighting games dont mean that it cant make a rpg snk never dissapoints when it comes to King of fighters (Except kof 2001 god knows that game was horrible) Im sure it will be a good game.

Sorry, but SNK has plenty to lose with this as goes with any sort of risk. Especially now with the way the games market and industry is. If this turns out to be crud, but sells cause of ignorant people...they will make more and send themselves down a path of destruction. SNK if anyone..should not be taking such risks as if it fails they lose a lot of money. This is a major gamble at best and personally I don't like the idea. KoF should stay a fighter and only a fighter...games need to stick to their roots or else risk total failure.

im srry but i mean kof is still going to be doing fighting games too i can understand if KOF was going from fighting to just rpg, if rpg's is not ur thing then dont buy this game but a lot of ppl like fighters and rpgs including me, and i like the idea of a fighting game becoming a rpg not just snks kof its a good way of explaining the story a lot better then just reading descriptions at websites...

Yea i see wat ur saying but yea i think this will be a good game im intrested in seeing how the story works cuz the kof storyline is hard to keep up with. Im pretty sure this will do good its already getting postive feedback at a number of sites ur actually the first person who i seen think this was a negative thing.. But like i said if this blows up in snk's face they wont be taking it to hard at all they are in stable financial condition now and plus with kof XII coming out they really have nothing to lose..

I agree. It's not like they are strangers to RPGs either, since they made one based on the Samurai Showdown series.
