what is a good version of photoshop to use

i myself use cs4 Extended

CS4 is nothing but CS3 but is has a new name. I reccommend that you get 7.0 and CS3. Get ya hands dirty with 7.0 and then move on to CS3.

Yeah, I use 7 & I know Ice used it a lot before getting cs3 (my laptop has issues with cs3). We've both produced some quality work with 7.
I know Rage has cs4 but he says that unless you need to use 3d modelling it's no better than cs3.

I'm still using CS2.... Works fine for me, but I'm sure you can start out with CS3... If you still have a pc with XP, though, then get CS2, because it most likely wont be able to handle CS3...

Well i only use cs4 becuase i got a mac laptop for my grad present when i graduated high school, and the when the CS4 Master Suite Collection Came out it was bought for me, So yea But as everyone said CS4 Is No Better then CS3

Shoot... I still use 7. I deleted CS3. Took up too much space.
