Dragonclaw Palettes...Srsly.
« on: March 30, 2009, 12:38:59 AM »
Okay, I thought it was hilarious when I heard someone say that it was impossible to palettize DC, but since I wanted to do something for DC's anniversary and was a little bit late, I figured now is as good a time as any to announce this:

30 palettes for Dragonclaw!! Hahaha!!!

srsly.

Check them out here if you have anything better than a Dial-Up connection: TADA!!!

Now, some of you may be asking: "Didn't you already release 25 palettes and aren't some of these repeats!?" :-??

Why, yes. Yes they are. BUT: There are actually updates to the older palettes and there are like...9 new palettes that replaced some of the random bad old ones!!  :-"

"What makes this release so special?" you may ask. This is what I had intended to release on Dragonclaw's first release date Anniversary, but since I never really kept track of it, it took a TON of research to find out that he was more or less a New-Years baby. OOPS!!  @^@

Enjoy, and visit my website to get the palettes: The Dragon's Mouth

lol 30 palettes?!
I think its pretty difficult to make palettes for him since he is a 3D character, How long does it take for 1 palette?

I already have some palettes for Dragon Claw from you, Since they are updated I will check them out soon :)

I'm not going to lie, Reu (R.I.P.) couldn't completely separate two of the colors on DC's palette, which is one of the issues that we discussed while he was still alive. Put simply we both decided that there were far too many sprites to reassign all of the collors for each sprite. In the end it takes just a little artistic tact to find color combinations that won't entirely clash under such circumstances.

Takes me anywhere between 5-20 minutes to find the right color combinations for a reasonable palette. Afterwards I filter out all of the random useless/bad/tacky palettes. I actually have about 50 palettes for DC in his file. lol

1 character at a time may use only 12 palettes in it's .def file. I made 30 because not everyone likes the same style of palettes and Dragonclaw is, for me anyways, fun to make palettes for.

I never though a marquee was that useful, until now.

I have never heard of filling someone in on someone's passing to be disrespectful...
I guess it's what I believe or where I come from or something then...

Anyways, the palettes are pretty neat, will save some time for a lot of people I guess.

I'm surprised that no one's commented on the "Cell Shaded" palette...
