How to assign a stage to achar

I know you must think  :
, Damn what a noob question !

But this is the problem :

To assign a stage to a character I may do this :

KFM, stages/stage0.def

But I use No limit Winmugen and for me that doesn't work
the computer continues randomly select a stage ,
it's particulary boring for the Bonus stages that doesn't appear on their own stage ,
so I want to know if someone knows another way to assign stage to a character ?

I heard saying that we can assign a music adding a coding line
in the statedef-2 of a character ,
so may it work for stages ?

i always to mine like this:

My character by the way:

Angel(s), stages/Angelstage.def, order=2

i dont know anything about music. i just put that in the stage def.

Use the format:
    charname, stagefilename
 
For a player with filename "kfm" and stage filename "stages/mybg.def" type (without the semicolon): kfm, stages/mybg.def

Simple as that.

It should work.

Yes simple as you say ,
but it doesn't work with me ,
that was why I asking for another if it exists another way to assign stages ...

I've done it with Skychase bonus stage :
Skychase, Stages/stage.def

but the skychase bonus stage continues to appear on a random stage ,
and that's not only this char but all char I have ,
impossible to assign a stage to a char with this way :

character, stages/stage.def

If you assign a stage to a char it doesn't exclude it from appearing other times where chars just have random.

Try reinstalling or re-downloading MUGEN maybe your MUGEN is corrupted because that's the correct way to add stages.

so you mean that this is unusual because
chars could appear anywhere else ?

There must be a way to assign stage in order that the character appear only on this stage , no ?

  hi, try to change the "/" to "\" one and the music is

kfm,stages\kfm.def,sound\macarena.mp3,order=5

this mean kungf fu man apears in the fifth fight in the stage kfm with the macarena music
