Since I've set a precedent by allowing picks like this, we'll make this an official way to enter now. I do ask though that you also pm me the pick so as the email notification will serve as a timestamp in case someone else from another forum makes the same selection.

Okay, question for the forum. Many of the sports fans here have probably filled out their NCAA Brackets. Would you all be interested in doing the same thing here? This would be an exclusive contest just for IMT to reward this community for being the most involved. Here would be how you would submit things

List your 16 first round winners
List the 8 second round
List the 4 third round (final four)
List the finalists
List the winner.

To enter, we'll just make a topic thread and post picks there.

If the interest is there to do such a thing, and enough people do such a thing, a tiebreaker will be determined then. And yes a prize will be involved here as well if it happens.

By the way, what is up with the namebrand selections? All of the remaining picks are from smaller non organized creation teams. And my personal picks for the 3 most unique characters (Martian Manhunter, Quasar, Jean Grey edit, more into on them all back in the thread) are still 0-3. Lets go people, show the little guys some love :P

Hey DT, will you still wish him luck if his rep Hobgoblin faces yours in Mr. Fantastic? lol :D

Okay people, need these last slots filled up. And no feedback on the whole bracket prediction idea I mentioned?

In attempt to get the final characters represented I am making a change. I am giving a first round bye to anyone who has entered the tournament if they can recruit the most people to join in and select the final characters who are:

Quasar - very good character
Cable - with AI patch
Psylocke - with AI patch
Jean Grey edit - new moves added, can watch in action here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jwp9QKvJcA&feature=channel_page#

The new entrant must signify along with their character selection which prior entrant recruited them to join. This can be done in pm, or the topic thread. If a tie happens between any number of parties, a special tiebreaker will be instituted to determine who gets the bye to the second round.

I know there is interest in this as we've had a most of the representatives taken and a lot of views just at this forum...and that does not take into account all the views at other forums. Plus, the website gets a large number of hits a day.

Entering is very, very easy and the characters will represent new contestants nicely. Let's go people.

bdcirck,

Everyone does not know what they are missing, as he's a great character who I see winning a good number of matches, if not the whole thing.

I guess when it comes to this, people are going with who they are familiar with. Although da_linkwent just took a chance on the Jean Grey edit, so props to him.

So there are two slots left to fill, both tough characters:
Cable by Cloudius with AI patch
Psylocke by Sunboy with AI patch

If a current contestant can recruit just one person to select one of them, they guarantee themselves to at least be in the running with the tiebreaker event for the first round bye. If that same person fills both slots with referrals, then the bye to the second round is theirs. Just have whoever that joins say, "So and So recruited me to join."

As for how often this will happen again, once a month is too often, especially how difficult it has been to fill this field of 32. However, I will say this, if the feature proves to be popular, we will do it again before next March. However, any future events, the field will be limited to 16.

Edit: I was referred by SPOOKY77.  :P

Technology, no need to email to make the pick official, as you are in as Cable. You can email if you'd like to be placed on the email listing, but for the most part anything said on that will be said in the forum and on the website. So if you keep up with those, you'll be fine.

And because the final slots were mainly filled with unreferred entrants, except for this final one, that means this one recruit by Spooky77 won him and his representative Spawn the automatic bye into the second round.

There will be more information later, regarding fight format, bracket and matchups and everything.

In short, AI fights to see who is the best of those participating. A reader/poster finds a representative and if their character wins, they win a small prize (More on that later). To see all the fighters, and who is representing them, go to:

http://www.youtube.com/user/volzzilla

There will be more information later (as currently I have to sort through my recording issues I'm discussing in the Help section.)

And how could we know who won?

Are you going to upload the fights to YouTube for example?

The start is TBA after I figure out my technical issues. (http://www.infinitymugenteam.com/Forum_345/index.php?topic=21627.0 )

Fights will be uploaded onto YouTube, but will be private until the corresponding post on the Favorite Fiction website is published.

And as for the guarantee DarkTalbain made about no one will beat Wolvenom, he is right! Because Wolvenom isn't participating :P
