Mugen Madness - Followup
« on: March 17, 2009, 09:21:58 AM »
To help celebrate one of the greater events in all of sports, Favorite Fiction Blog has decided to have its own tournament. Thirty-two characters are selected from a wide range and then will be randomly slotted into the bracket to fight against each other until one is crowned the champion.

The kicker to all this, we want your participation! The first 32 readers can select one character to represent them in this tournament. And if your representative wins, you will be awarded a small prize that will be revealed later.

List to choose from

Those selections were based off of these criteria:
 - Wide range from creation
 - Trying to find more non-Marvel chars
 - Attempts at play balance

To enter, pick 5 of those characters and order them to preference. Then mail this list to:
ff_blog@yahoo.com

Your representative will be awarded as your highest preference depending on the time the entry was submitted, so it is first come, first served! So to get your highest preferred char, submit your entry as soon as possible!

A couple corrections

Aquaman & Green Arrow are created by Zvitor .

Ms Marvel is created by UltraRoboNinja & Zvitor

The Thing is created by Warner

Black cat was created by Eclipse & O' Illusionista

Joker & Robin are made by alexziq & JASONTODD

Hobgoblin was made by me

Since Team Spoiler doesn't exist anymore , I guess it would be more correct to list us as individual creators .

When is this tournament anyway ?  So you will put them in watch mode or something & whatever character wins advances ?

I choose Wolvenom as my character lol

Well, I was running with host sites for much of them, for convenience and in case people wanted to know where to get them. A similar post was made throughout all the community forums.

And the tournament will happen as soon as possible and it will be in watch mode, AI vs. AI. So yea, winner advances through the bracket.

As for Wolvenom, its a deal...if you release him today, lol :D

Let me see if we can finish up 2 weeks worth of work on him in the next hour or so lol

OK , I guess Wolvenom doesn't enter the tournament . Maybe next one .

10 of the 32 characters are now represented. To see who has been selected:
http://www.youtube.com/user/volzzilla

I did some testing before, and I see a lot of potential characters that could win it all still lacking representation for the prize.

Not to mention, everyone's recent fan favorite Rorschach with brand new AI from a few days has still not been picked.

Well, assuming these are computer battles using only the given AI and overpoweredness of the characters then easily Deadpool or The Thing. But I never played TeamOmegaPawnage's Silver Surfer or the Jean Grey edit so I don't know if either of those have been overpowered.

My offical vote I'll e-mail eventually is Deadpool.

Well, better make that eventually pretty quick as you just let others in on your strategy ;) Plus, someone from the other places that I made similar posts at might think the same thing.

I well say this though, every character is within the same power levels to some degree. Which is also why some characters were not selected, like Wolverine and Magneto and numerous others.

As for the edited Jean Grey, highly unique character which was edited to be more accurate to her comic counterpart. Telepathic blasts, flies, and the showstopper move of the ability to grab her opponent telekineticly and toss them about.

And in regards to TOPS Silver Surfer, not a single character in this whole thing, and perhaps my entire roster has more special moves.

Batzarro, The Thing is a good choice and I think he will do right by you :)

Here is an update, so far 18 of the 32 characters for the AI Tournament have been selected for representation. You can see who has been picked, and who remains unselected by going to:

http://www.youtube.com/user/volzzilla

Out of the characters that remain, every single one of the 14 would be very cool representatives. But more importantly, when I look at that list, I see a lot of characters that have a very good chance at winning.

Here are a couple tips that might help someone. I understand that not a lot of people may have Quasar or Martian Manhunter (the most recently updated version). This fact is probably why they have not been picked yet, because of that unfamiliarity. Well, both of these characters are very good and very well done and fall into that category I just mentioned of having a very good chance at winning.

bdcirck and Jhonny DC should be very proud of the work they put in with them, and you will be proud for how well they will represent you.

Here are two test videos of each, the Martian Manhunter one is a little more extensive (due to our recent review of him at the website), especially considering the Quasar vid is just showing off some moves in training mode.

Each character has a few more moves that were not seen, and both have very good AI and put their full power set to good use. Whoever picks either of them will not be disappointed.

Remember, to submit your picks, check the site listed above for the current roster selections, and then email to ff_blog@yahoo.com

Thank you.
