The first round matches from Groups A and B are now online and can all be seen at:
http://mmcelhaney-fiction.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-madness-day-1.html

The thing that stood out the most was how all of the characters utilized their special moves extensively in a number of good matches. Try to figure out which match is your favorite as there will be a poll up soon asking such a question. If I had to pick just from this selection, there is one that stands out a little more to me. Try and figure out which fight I'm talking about.

Thank you and enjoy.

f1  works, but i dont even know what the others do, so i couldnt tell you there.

JT, the suit change happens because technically the Mugen thinks each character is separate due to the fight format and some palette swap thing happens with some characters.

The fight format is 3 on 3, same character used each time, so as it works similar to best of 5 rounds, but with an attrition factor put in.

I really enjoyed watching the first round. I have a feeling that Spider-Man is going to win the entire thing. His AI is relentless, and he's super quick; oh and his level 3 hyper combo does huge damage.

I'd say Savage Hulk, but he gets hit out of his moves kind of easily. ._.;;

The Spider-Man/Storm and Lobo/Ms. Marvel matches were really great and came down to the wire. Looking to see how the pairings go for the next set of matches. :)

Well, been trying not to post spoiler stuff as to outcomes so as when people watch, they find out then since these are not typical Mugen YouTube fights, as there are stakes involved.

Since some people do not understand, this event is for http://mmcelhaney-fiction.blogspot.com/2009/03/march-madness-mugen-style-update.html

...and not IMT forums only. That said, i ask that you please refrain from giving short spoiler info such as in the previous post that may keep others from checking things out themselves.

Discussion is one thing, but short spoiler tidbits like that are quite another. The popularity this event might bring to the website will be a determining if something like this happens again in the future.

My emotions during the match= :O*D :w00t: :o  >:( :-SS ~X( 8-} @-) ;D ^:)^||Figgin A Spiderman, you almost gave me a heart attack, it came so close against Storm. Lobo came thru in the clutch, Deadpool v Psylocke was very enjoyable. Green lantern, Hobgoblin and Joker had no chance..lol

volzzilla said he didn't want to post spoiler stuff , so people watch . I guess we shouldn't post in the thread like this .

It would kind of be like if someone announced who made some of the sprites in the sprite of the week contest . Kind of ruins things for some people .

So let's try not to discuss things like this in the thread .

Well, like i said, discussion is cool, giving teaser info is even better to get people to watch the fights. But short comments like the end there serve no purpose other than ruining the expectation of finding out results for others.

I hope people understand what I mean by that.

This is especially critical as tonights broadcasted fights will be even better than this batch, and short spoiler info on them might take the shine away from some trully epic matches.

Thanks Hyperion, and good luck to your representative, Savage Hulk.

Just to clarify from before, discussing the matches is fine and I especially like how some have created more buzz to see the fights with their comments.

theWhat I'm hoping is avoided are just the short comments offering nothing to the discussion and do nothing but spoil the outcomes for others.

After all, remember that there are stakes involved.

Anyway, if you liked the matches from groups A and B, today's matches from Groups C and D are already uploaded and due to go online tonight will be absolute treats.

And Day 2 is now ready for broadcast and are you all in for a treat. Some of these matches make the Ms.Marvel vs. Lobo fight look tame. And that was picked as Day 1's most intense match.

Easter eggs to look for:
- A certain Cinderella story who most probably thought would lose, proves otherwise
- Two absolutely fantastic comeback victories from behind
- The appearabe of Carnage Cosmic, as TOPS Silver Surfer has to have him fight a round due to how amazing that second mode is
- Great showcase of special moves from Iron Man vs. Aquaman
- An awesome explosive arrow that will sure to leave you laughing
- And finally, watch how Sabranigudu's edit of Jean Grey has re-imagined moves closer to her comic counterpart. Especially how she grabbed Batman with telekinesis and threw him around a couple times.

Enjoy it all here:

These matches were way better then the ones of yesterday. Thing/Silver Surfer and Aquaman/Iron Man were real great matches that came down to the very end. :)

Can't wait to see the next days matches. Will A & B winners only have their matches tomorrow, or will C & D join them to make 8 full matches again.?

Really good matches once again.

When all the victors get closer to their battles, things will heat up big time. All ready we're seeing such good entertainment from these and competition isn't going to do anything but get more intense and I'm looking forward to more and more of the excitement.  :O*D
