Smallest turn out yet, which really sucks. However, the quality on all the sprites is great.! I guess it was quality over quantity this time, which is never bad.

The Beast sprite made me lmao. My vote goes to that but 2nd option would be that Goltiath. Both sprites are great.

I would have voted for Beast if it weren't for the fact that the other sprites on that took the quality way down, especially the Belle, whose shading just plainly sucks.

I'm rather annoyed though, I had a sprite ready and everything but my internet decided to go down yesterday and it's only just got fixed by my provider. I was rather proud of it as well.....but oh well, these thing happen. I may post it later on.

I keep looking for that episode but i cant find it, and they never show it on boomerang.


Anyhoo, that Golith is totaly disporportional, His arms are wayyyyy to long.
Actualy im kidding, i know its a leo base, its obvious. the face and wings do need a bit of work but it looks nice overall. Good job on the feet, too bad you didnt have a pose where his fists were open too.

Giselle, she's too tall, and not enough poofyness from her dress there.

Beast was good but i think the rest of the peice is distasteful.

Jasmine looks like she's breaking her back there.

Team Lightyear dosnt look show accurate like the others managed to pull off. Sence when could XR turn into phobos?


Thats what ill say, im being crytical on all of them, including mine.. Which one is mine? Wate till the end to find out..

Also, I'm kind of against anonymous voting here, seeing as most people just voted for the Beast purely for the gore, it appears. Like Spider said, the sprite looks totally distasteful with the useless additions, and, as I pointed out, the shading is just horrible on Belle. If you don't notice that, then I think compos like this are pretty much useless.

I'm also surprised that Giselle hasn't had more votes. I voted for her because I like the sprite, not the character. It seems that people aren't judging the contest on quality, but rather who is in the sprite, and what is happening in it. Although not a lot can be done about people's attitudes toward this, but it just seems a tad unfair!

I vote for the gargoile because I think what this contest are for one char design no for scenes.The scenes make rich the ilustrations but the focus must be a one char.sorry for my english

I agree with Aquelegordo. Sprite compos are generally more about the design itself. If you nail the design while still staying in the style it was supposed to be in, it deserves a vote. I myself voted on Goliath because, well, both the edited parts as well as the added parts have the right shading and proportions. Sure there are flaws, but the design makes up for it. I'm a decent spriter, I'm better at improving sprites, but that sprite I just can't improve it much. The only thing I could improve on that sprite is adding some shades on the wings, but that may be due to time constraints.

In my opinion, votes should be weighed, in the sense that they need to be backed up by why the sprite should deserve this vote. Not just because "it's awesome". And that's how I vote sprites. If I can't improve it myself, it deserves my vote. That's my reasoning. For the other sprites, in some degree I can improve them. For example, the Beast alone would have made the sprite perfect, the rest just ruined it. Buzz Lightyear likewise. Buzz in itself was pretty baddass, and in my opinion it would fare far better than as it is right now. It exploited the Mega Man sprite in such a way you wouldn't even notice that much that it's a Mega Man edit.

The transition from concept to a game always seem to skew the proportions anyways. Especially SFIII. The only thing stoping me from suspending disbelief is the wing proportions. But that can be fixed.

I'm also surprised that Giselle hasn't had more votes. I voted for her because I like the sprite, not the character.

I'm really surprised too, considering the detail in the dress folds. That had to be a pain to render.

Yeah, in my opinion animals are a lot more difficult to sprite than human beings, since they're different from what we know, especially since you as a human can't pose as one.
