sonic and tails

i have the mugen hunter version of the sonic characters and what i want to know is is there a way to make it so that sonic and tails team up? i select only sonic and get them both, kinda like having a cpu ally they way tails was in the genesis games
megaman with that dog only the dog attacks and gets hit and all that stuff, they 2 of them share the 1 life bar, that sorta thng, can it be done? if so how?

ou will need to add all the sprites of tails, and you will need to code him as a helper

ugh, its a programing thing? ok is there a tutorial about how to program entirely? i honestly have no clue.
