Symbiote Wolverine
« on: December 29, 2008, 05:20:55 AM »
Now before anyone comes along and says it needs better shading... Like some one usually does... IT DOEASN'T!  <_<|...| Anyways, yeah, I think this is my best sprite so far, didn't take me a long time to do, about 2 hours, and it wasn't frustrating like other sprites I've done in the past, I actually enjoyed this one, everything went smoothly, I made the whole head from scratch, not including the blood and tounge, had a little help from the Venom sprite, what do you guys think, I'll try doing a couple more, if they go as smoothly as this one I might make a sprite pack, or maybe even a wip, I really like this character!  :w00t:

Jump animation almost done...

needs better shading  ;*))... just kidding it looks freaking sweat!!! and god do I wish u luck in this idea, it would be a great char...

only problem I see is the tounge, it seems a little big  ???
here take a look at this pic...

see the tounge is a is a lot smaller than that... but thats just what I think

some good points are...
1.the head looks freaking sweet!!!
2. the pattern is done very well
3. THIS SPRITE IS WICKED!!!

That's the pic I used for reference, and I kina feel you on the tounge idea, BUT, in that pic his tounge is in, and if you've played the game, you'd know how huge it is, I think it's bigger than Venoms, lol!

It's doesn't look very big when he has it in, but I guess this is just a sprite where he is sticking it out as far as it can go. If I make more sprites, it won't be as big, and in some sprites it might not even show.

now that I look at the sorite a little better and watched a video or two... I take back that old post cause it looks great... plus I forgot that this sprite would probley be a jump sprite and usally with "venom" counter parts they seem to like to jump with there tounges out and that pic happens to be when he's just standing there breathing...

thus I was wrong about what I said... great sprite and I hope u do really make a few more since this sprite is great

Good point about him jumping, didn't even relize that, I guess I subconsiously did it, but yeah, he is jumping up, and when a character with a large tounge goes up, the tounge goes down!.

Lovin' this sprite, man. Can't see the shades of black too well on this comp, but from what I can tell, he looks awesome. Great overall. :)

We stopped checking for monsters under our bed when we realized they were inside of us.

Thanks! I used to always get shading wrong, but with this new screen I can see things very clearly, and I guess that's why a lot of people always comment about the shading, becouse we all have diffrent monitors and they are all adjusted differently.

sweet. If you took away a little blood we could see even more of the char, which would be even more sweet.

Good job

That is pretty awesome.  I cant really make out the face too well though but I guess its because of all the black.

Edit: Nvm thats the way his face is lol

Terrible shading btw  ;*))

Lemmie start off by saying it looks great  Good Job

So dont let this next part bug you, as you made the design your own, but im going to point out the accurecy issues i noticed. (again, dont let this go to hard to ya)

1. Theres more yellow spots (especaly in the head) in your sprite then the design from the game.
2. The one from the game has a long beak of a face and yours is short and rounded.
3. The game has his fingers becoming metal claws aswell, yours they are crunched up.
4. Costume, the game seems to not have the classic wolverene sholders and instead has a few body spikes, so its safe to assume that it wouldnt have the boot fins eather.

Again thats just me pointing out accuracy between images. You just got a differnt style, and your look is good and dynamic, its just slighty differnt, and thats ok.

Yeah this doesn't look bad . Although like Mew pointed out his fingers are the claws in the game .

Yeah, I see what you mean, but I wanted to make it my own by adding a few twists, to be honest, I'm not to thrilled with how he looks in the game, I guess I fixed what I didn't like about him in this sprite, and as for the fins, at one point i had made them how they where supposed to be, but I think they look better exagerated, along with the extra yellow(adds more detail instead of it just looking more like a pallet swap), slightly larger tounge, and exagerated blood. And if you wanted to go more into it, he's not the right size, the right size for hime would be a build like Venoms, so yea. But like I said, I wasn't aiming for it to be exactly the same, I was aiming to make him better, lol. Thanks for giving feedback, that's what helps me the most!  :)
