JLinker [Online Tool]
« on: December 03, 2008, 11:42:11 AM »
ive been working on this for a while with an engineer.  Basically this will allow people to play online with mugen fullgames.
NOTE: this will not allow non fullgames online, thus i will not be handing it out to anyone but developers of fullgames.
why is this not compatable with anything other than fullgames you ask? well thats simple, all it will do is connect the two computors together by
keyboard (or set of joypads).  thus the mugen fullgames will run indepentantly of eachother.

DO NOT SPAM THIS TOPIC WITH OMG THIS ROCKs

havent gotten a chance to test it faraway, but, the only lag will be the other person recieving keyinputs
i will post on how to test the key lag later, currently there are issues involving portforwarding needing to be used, but eventually there will be a way around that with people setting up servers for stuff, and devolpment going furthur from the origional

its the creator's job to turn debug off, but i might include an option to turn em off
EOH would only have online if they asked me to give it to them so they could package it into their molebox

This is a very good idea. I'm looking forward to any updates you may have for this.

And if this is put into EOH I hope we have forum competitions.  :P

Hmm... This seems quite intriguing.Playing Full Mugen Games Online is like battling ppl in Melty Blood Online.

I hope this won't have massive Lagfests like in other online programs that allows you to battle others.

Ahem Anyway Good Luck on this and Wow this'll definitely be perfect for Card Sagas Wars.

First test over the internet was a success, next on the list is programming it to work in the background to avoid unwanted errors

What will happen with characters that use randomness in some way?  e.g. maybe on Player1's version the characters randomly execute different round intros than on Player2's version - the round might then start sooner for one player than the other.  Wouldn't that lead to things going out of sync?

How are you handeling player to player comunacation? Text box or voice chat? I think a text box would be a problem due to people using the keyboard to play. Perhaps if you had a direct voice connection people could talk to eachother while they fight.

But wouldn't you need a Microphone for that to work?
